The hum of the jet engine softened as it began its descent. Noa sat at the front of the cabin, his gaze fixed on the active tracker Sae had sent him. The signal flickered erratically on the screen, glitching every few seconds, but one thing was clear. It pointed to the Reichert estate. Then it glitched again an gave no such clues any longer.
His brow furrowed in thought as he leaned back in his seat. He didn't voice his suspicions, but felt it linger in his mind.
Without a word, he gestured to the pilot. "Land in the plane lot," he instructed.
The pilot nodded and within moments, the jet touched down with precision. Noa wasted no time. As the plane door opened, he pulled up the tracker again watching it glitch and shift. He stepped out onto the tarmac, the brisk Munich air hitting his face as he re-activated the live directions to Y/n's location.
He had barely taken a step when his phone rung. The screen displayed a number he hadn't heard from in a while.
Mrs. Ness
Noa sighed and answered, "Hello."
Her voice was shaky, but she pulled herself together. "I didn't know who else to call."
"Go on," he urged, sensing her tone.
She sounded professional, but her words came out in a panicked rush. "Someone dug up Alexis. There are footprints everywhere. Dozens of them." Noa remained silent, taking in the information one at a time.
She continued, "It's not just him, either. Six other graves have been dug up around his, all who seem to be young men's graves. What kind of person does this? Who knows what they're doing with those bodies? It's...."
"Take photos," Noa interrupted gently. "I'll look into it. But right now, there's a lot going on. Just file a police report for now and do some data runs for me. Some weird things are going on. I'll handle the rest."
The line went silent for a moment before she responded, "Alright. Just...tell me when you get updates."
"Ok." Noa hung up and took a deep breath, his fingers tightening around his phone. The situation was spiraling into something far darker than he'd anticipated. He reopened the directions to Y/n's location.
He needed to find her. He owed her that protection as her father. The idea felt far but the DNA matched up. Hildegard really had sneaked on him.
He left swiftly and immediately took off with little to no words. Just his mind set on a mission.
