A New Beginning

Tears well up in my eyes. Matthew was holding onto me to make sure I didn't try to save Caleb. I heard a gunshot.

"Caleb!" I screamed

Matthew let go of me. I ran to the vault. Caleb was lying on the ground, his neck covered in blood. The memory serum hadn't been touched. I collapsed beside Caleb.

"No." I whimpered

I felt for a pulse in his neck. Nothing. Tears overflowed. I lifted Caleb's head up against mine. Someone pulled me away from Caleb. I screamed and tried to wriggle out of their grasp. When I was out of the vault, they let me go. I ran. I didn't know where I was going but I ran.

Tobias POV
Christina and I walked into the Bureau. Matthew ran up to us. He was out of breath.

"What is it? What happened? Where's Tris?" I asked a little harsher than I meant

"Tris is gone. We can't find her anywhere." Matthew said

"What? How could you lose her? I told you to hold her back!" I yelled

"After David killed Caleb, I let her go. I didn't know she would run off like this." He said

Then Cara can running to Matthew.

"We found her." Cara said

"Is she hurt?" I asked

"Second terminal. Gate K3." She said

I followed to signs to terminal 2 with Christina close behind. I went to K3. I found her sitting in a chair with her head buried in her hands. Her hands were covered in blood. There was a gun on the floor by her feet. I motioned for Christina to say back. I walked over to Tris and kicked the gun away. I sat next to her. She jumped and pulled her head out of her hands. She looked at her feet. I pulled her up to her feet and wrapped my arms around her.

A security guard came over to us.

"I need to talk to her for a second. I promise I won't hurt her." He said

I looked at Tris. She got up and went with the guard. When she was gone, Christina came over to me.

"She has a gun Four." She said, out of breath

"What?"

Christina led me to where the guard took Tris. There was a one way glass so we could see in.

"Nice try." He said

Tris bolted up from her seat.

"I TOLD YOU EVERYTHING! CAN YOU JUST LEAVE IT ALONE AND LET ME BE?" She yelled

"NO! I CANT! NOW TELL ME WHY CALEB WAS IN THE WEAPONS LAB! AND WHY DID YOU MAGICALLY APPEAR TO HIS AID?" He yelled back

Tris hesitated.

"BECAUSE HE DIDNT LIKE THE IDEAS OF DAVID AND HE WANTED TO RESET THE MEMORIES OF EVERYONE IN THE COMPOUND! NOW CAN I LEAVE?" She yelled

"Yes you can." He said

Tris POV
I slammed the door of the interrogation room open. I ran out of the room. I ran out of the Bureau. I stood in the grass. Tears overflowed into my cheeks.

"Tris!" Someone called out

I fell to my knees and let the tears fall. This is all my fault. I had shamed him and I never told him I loved him. Then a pair of strong arms pulled me to my feet. I saw Tobias through the blur of my tears. He wrapped his arms around me.

"This is all my fault." I whispered

"No it's not. This was his choice not yours. You couldn't change it." Tobias said

Tobias led us to a dorm. He got me some clothes and set them on the bed. After I was changed, I sat on the bed. After a minute, I laid down. Tobias laid down next to me. He slipping on arm under my head and the other around my waist. I fell asleep quickly.

I felt a dip in the bed at my feet. I opened my eyes. I saw Evelyn at the foot of the bed.

"Sorry to wake you." She said

"Why are you here?" I asked harshly

"Just get Tobias to come back into the city." Evelyn said

"He wouldn't like that."

"Ask him." She said

I turned over and saw Caleb covered in blood. My mother and father appeared with blood still on their clothing. Will appeared behind them, the same way.

"This is all your fault." They all said together

I bolted up. Tears streamed down my face. This is all my fault. Tobias woke up.

"You alright?" He asked

I laid back down and nodded. Tobias wrapped his arms around me again. I close my eyes and let sleep take over.

I woke up to someone shaking me. I opened my eyes and saw Christina at the foot of my bed. I looked over to the other side of my bed. Tobias wasn't there. I sat up.

"You okay?" Christina asked

"I don't know." I said

"I know how you feel." She said

No she doesn't. I got up and put my boots on.

"I'm gonna go take a walk." I said

I walked to Matthew's office. He stood up when he saw me.

"Where is Caleb?" I asked

"Tris, he's-"

"I KNOW HES DEAD! I'm sorry. I just want to know where is body is." I said

Matthew nodded and led me to the morgue. I saw Caleb's body on an autopsy table. I thanked Matthew and he left. I walked over to the table.

"I'm sorry Caleb. I should've just forgiven you. This is all my fault. I love you Caleb. I still do and I always did. Please forgive me Caleb. I've done so many horrible things." I whispered trying to hold back tears

I gave up and let the tears fall. Someone came into the room. I dried my tears and turned around. David was standing there. My blood boiled.

"I'm sorry for your loss Tris." David said

"You aren't sorry. YOU KILLED HIM!" I screamed

I punched David in the face several times before he shoved me to the wall.

"That's enough Tris! He basically killed himself!" David said

"You didn't have to shoot him." I said through gritted teeth
