A New Beginning

I woke up in a cell in Erudite. I heard yelling and screaming. Then gunshots. Peter came running into my cell. He grabbed my arm and dragged me along behind him. I started running beside him.

"What is happening?" I asked

"We are getting you out of here." Peter said

Two guards handcuffed me. One of them stood on each side of me. They pulled me into the lobby. Peter led them outside. When we were outside, I heard gunshots.

Peter grabbed my arm and ordered the guards away. We ran to Abnegation.

"Go to your parents house." Peter said

I ran inside the house.

"Mind telling me what is going on?" I said

"All of Dauntless is after Jeanine. They know that Jeanine took you. Now you have to kill her yourself before another war starts." Peter said

"We also might want to change clothes. Abnegation sees two dauntless wandering around, they are gonna suspect something." I said

I ran upstairs to my room. I grabbed a shirt, pants and boots for me and then ran into Caleb's room and got a shirt, pants and boots for Peter. I threw him the clothes and then changed in my room. When we were both changed, I pulled my hair back.

We walked toward Erudite. There were guards surrounding the building. I grabbed the two guns from my boots.

"Nice job." Peter said

I handed him a gun and he put it in his boot and I returned mine to my boot. I saw a crowd of Dauntless running toward Erudite with Tobias and Zeke at the head of it. I walked fast toward the doors with Peter behind me. A guard stopped us.

"What are you doing here?"

"We just need to speak to Kate." I said

"About what?"

"I can't tell you that. I just need to talk to her."

Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Zeke lean over to Tobias.

"No. She isn't seeing anyone right now."

"Okay. We will just see her tomorrow then. Come on Robert."

Peter and I turned around. I looked at Tobias and winked. I stopped and walked back to the guard.

"If we can't see her now can you deliver a message for me?" I asked

"What is it?"

I punched him in the face and pulled out my gun. I shot another guard in the arm. The Dauntless came forward and started their battle. Peter and I put our guns away and ran inside.

"I need to see Kate, it's extremely urgent."

The receptionist led us up to Kate's office. Peter and I entered the room. Peter locked the door.

"Hello. Can I help you?" Jeanine said

"Yes you can." I said before pulling out my gun.

"I didn't think Abnegation had guns or tattoos."

"You don't remember me do you Jeanine?"

"Who are you people?"

"I think you know exactly who I am. I think if I remember correctly, you killed my parents and Caleb, all indirectly of course because you are scared to live with the blood on your hands."

"Beatrice Prior. I know you won't kill me."

"Why do people alway underestimate me? Well it's either me or an angry mob of Dauntless."

Jeanine launched herself at me. I slammed her against the floor. I put my feet on her wrists. Her hand was still wrapped from when I stabbed her.

I shot her hand. She screamed out in pain.

"Stop this Beatrice."

"No. You remember the sim. I'm deadly and I will never stop."

I shot her in the stomach. She screamed again. The door busted open. Tobias and Zeke came in.

"Tris,-"

"Beatrice, stop."

"You know I won't stop until your dead. You should know me. Deadly."

"You selfish girl. Your whole family was selfish."

I shot her in the other hand.

"Tris, we have a problem." Peter said

"Say hello to my mother for me." I said before shooting her in the head

Her face lost all color. I turned to Peter.

"We have to get out of here. What hallway?"

"2c. They should be here in 5."

I opened the window. I looked back at Tobias. His face was in complete shock. I slid him my gun.

"Tris, what are you doing?" Tobias said

"We have to get out. The window is our only option."

I jumped out. Tobias, Zeke and Peter followed. I ran ahead of them. Zeke put an earpiece in my ear.

"All Dauntless head back to the Pit." I said

"We need to go. Now." Peter said

I started running. Tobias, Zeke and Peter stayed beside me.

"You have an extra gun?" I asked

Zeke threw me a gun. I loaded it and held my finger over the trigger.

"Tris! Tris! Uriah is gone!" Hector yelled through the earpiece

"Get out of there!" I yelled back

"We can't leave him!"

"Get out of there! I'm going back for him!"

"What? Going back? For who? You can't go back they'll kill you." Zeke said

I stopped running.

"If I don't go back, Uriah's already dead." I said

"Tris! Leave Uriah! Get out! We just got a reading of 3 Erudite at least 40 feet away from you and moving fast." Hector yelled

"Run." I said

We all started sprinting. I heard a gunshot. I ran faster than I normally did. Tobias and Zeke ran up beside me while Peter stayed behind me. When we reached Dauntless, I went to my apartment. I changed into training pants and a tank top. I pulled on a pair of boots and grabbed an extra gun.
I shoved the gun into my boot. I pulled on a training sweater.

"Tris, what are you doing?" Tobias asked

"If Uriah stays there any longer, he will die and I can't have anyone else die because of me." I said

"No one else is gonna die because of you." Tobias said

"Last time you said that, Caleb died." I said a little harsher than I meant. "I can't let Uriah die. I've already lost my family and I can't lose anyone else."

I started to walk out of the apartment.

"I'm coming with you. If anything, you'll need someone who is familiar with the Erudite system." Peter said

Hector came running into my apartment.

"Tris, they are here and the have Uriah."
