A New Beginning

I woke in the infirmary. Tobias was by my side, holding my hand. Zeke and Uriah were at the foot of my bed. Christina and Will were on my left side. Uriah notice I was awake and punched Zeke in the arm. Zeke grabbed his arm. I tried to cover my laugh. Tobias looked up at me.

"Why am I here?" I asked weakly

"You were shot with five nurostim darts. You blacked out in the training room. You don't remember?" Tobias said gently

"I don't remember going into the training room." I said

"What?" Christina said

"Too much pain. Nurostim darts have a component in it where if more than two  doses injected into the victim, it causes more pain and let's just say that you are lucky to be alive Tris." Will said

"How do you know all this?" Christina asked

"My mother was on the team that created the darts." Will said

"Nose." Zeke said

"Why do I get the feeling someone is trying to kill Tris?" Uriah said

"I got that feeling after we finished our game." I said. "How long have I been here?"

"A day." Will said

I sat up. Tobias stood and helped me.

"I have to find out who is attacking you and why. It won't be easy but I could do it." Will said

Tobias helped me off the bed.

"I think I know exactly who's attacking me. I think I know what they want from me too." I said. "Follow me."

I walked to the control room. I sat at one of the computers. I pulled up some security footage from the transfer attack. I pulled up footage from the hallways outside of the dorms and leading to the lobby. I saw Jack wondering the halls for a while then going outside. I pulled up footage from the cameras outside. I saw Jack meeting with Abby 20 yards outside of Dauntless.

"How did she do that?" Christina said in shock

I pulled up footage from today. I looked at the outside monitors. Nothing. I went to the cameras inside of Erudite. I saw something strange in Abby's office. There was a map of Dauntless. My eyes widened. I zoomed in further to look at the board in the corner of her office. At the top it read: Attack on Dauntless-Subject Tris.

I got up and left the control room. Uriah ran after me. He grabbed my arm and pulled me into a hug.

"I'm not letting her touch you. You are like my sister." Uriah said

I pulled away from him.

"Get ready for war." I said

I walked away from him. I walked to the training room. I grabbed a few guns and loaded them. Zeke ran into the training room.

"Tris! You can't start a war like this."

"Do you want to lose a leader? She is after Dauntless because I killed her mother."

Will came running into the training room.

"Hurry. It's Christina." Will said frantically

I got up and ran beside Will. He led us to the chasm. Christina was standing at the chasm. She took a step forward and I ran forward to grab her arm. Zeke grabbed my legs before I could slip over the edge. I held onto Christina's arms tightly.

"Christina!" I yelled

She snapped awake. Zeke dragged my legs backward and Will helped Christina up. I stood up. Tobias and Uriah came over to us. I felt a sudden sharp pain in the side of my chest. I froze then started to fall. Tobias caught me before I hit the ground.

"You okay?" Tobias asked

I stood up and nodded. I saw James with a gun running away. I ran after him, pulling out my own gun. I shot him in the leg. He fell to the ground still trying to get away. I grabbed him by this arm and pulled him up.

"I was dared to shoot you with a dark red paintball." James said cowering in fear

"You know that it isn't a good idea to shoot at me right now." I said

"Tris." Tobias said

"Get. Before I shoot you." I said

Will threw me the paintball gun. I shoot James 6 times before he disappeared.

"What was that?" Tobias said

I don't know what came over me but it ended with Tobias on the floor holding has nose. Tears spilled over into my cheeks. I could believe I just hurt Tobias.

"Oh my god." I whispered

I covered my mouth with my hands. Zeke and Uriah were at Tobias' side.

"What the hell Tris? How could you do this to him? You hurtful little pansycake." Zeke yelled

Tobias looked into my eyes with a look of hurt. Tears gushed out of my eyes. I walked away. Christina and Will followed me. Christina grabbed my arm.

"What happened?" Christina asked

"I don't know. How could I do this? Zeke was right." I whispered

Zeke walked by us with Tobias' arm sling over his shoulder. Tobias was limp. Zeke was almost dragging him on the ground. I ran away. I could bare to see the damage I caused. I ran to Abnegation. It was midday so everyone was out. Someone came up to me.

"Are you alright? Do you need help?" She said

"Where's Evelyn?" I asked

She led me to Marcus' old house. She knocked and then left. Evelyn opened the door and let me in.

"What are you doing here? What happened? Why are you crying?" Evelyn asked

"I hurt Tobias." I whispered as another sob came up from my throat. "I didn't mean to. I just couldn't control what I was doing. I can't live with myself anymore Evelyn."

"Oh my. What do you want me to do?" Evelyn asked

"Can I stay here for a while?" I asked

"Of course." Evelyn said
