A New Beginning

Peter led me to a room in Candor. I recognized it by the huge scales in the center of the room. He tied my wrists together and then tied me to a table.

"It's nice to see you again Beatrice Prior." Jack hissed

"Why do you want me?" I asked

"It was Jeanine's last will that you be killed. You are a threat to everyone in this city. You've seen the outside and you're divergent. You are highly dangerous and you've murdered innocent people. You are deadly Tris and our city can't afford you." Jack said. "Peter, do it."

Peter came back over to me with a whip and a gun. He pulled the table into an upright position. He hit me with the whip until I was covered in blood and weak. He dropped the whip and picked up the gun. A bullet found my arm. Another bullet found my stomach and two bullets found my leg. Another one found my side. I was loosing blood rapidly. I hung my head and closed my eyes. I heard yelling and gunshots. I used whatever strength I had left to lift my head. I saw Zeke, Uriah and Will shooting the guards coming after me. I hung my head again. Someone came over to me.

"Tris, Tris, wake up." Tobias said

I couldn't move. I couldn't do anything.

"Hec, cut the ropes." Tobias said

I felt air around my body where the ropes were. I fell into Tobias' arms. He carried me bridal style.

"Alright! Let's move!" Tobias yelled

I heard footsteps behind us. Tobias started running. He threw me. I hit my back on something hard. I heard footsteps on the metal.

"Tris. Tris, you can open your eyes." Tobias said

"I can't." I said weakly

"Why can't you?" Zeke said

"She's lost too much blood look." Will said

"Isn't blood supposed to be red?" Zeke said

"We need to get her to the infirmary before she bleeds out." Will said

Before i knew it, I was being thrown into the air again. I landed in someone's arms. They were running. I heard gasps and screams. I was set on something soft. That's when I blacked out.

Tobias POV
I sat in the waiting room with my head in my hands. Hector, Zeke, Uriah, Will and a very emotional Christina walked into the infirmary.

"How could you let her get hurt like this?" Christina hissed

"This wasn't my fault. It wasn't her fault either. She wouldn't have gone if she knew this was going to happen." I yelled

"Four, Christina, stop. This is no ones fault. No one knew that Jack would do this to her." Zeke said

"I'm gonna kill you Four." Christina hissed

Tris POV
I woke in the infirmary. I felt a little stronger but my whole body was sore. I had bandages wrapped around my stomach. The nurse came over to me.

"Hey Tris. How you feeling?" She asked

"Better I guess." I said

"Do you know what happened?" She asked

"Yeah, Peter almost killed me." I said

"Is it okay if Four and some others come to visit you?"

"Four only. Please." I said

She smiled and went to the waiting room. She came back with Tobias behind her. He ran over to my bedside.

"What did he do to you?" Tobias asked

"It wasn't Jack." I said weakly

"Who did this to you?"

"Peter."

"I am never letting you go there again."

"I'm fine."

"Tris, you lost almost all of your blood and you can barely move."

I looked up by all the machines. There was a pack of blood with a tube going into my arm. I looked at Tobias.

"I'm sorry. I shouldn't have done that." I whispered as tear rolled down my face. "I promised not to sacrifice myself. I promised you. I'm so sorry. I couldn't let him hurt Hector. I can't let anyone else die or get hurt because of me. I can't. Not after Caleb."

I choked on Caleb's name.

"Tris, stop this. No one is gonna die because of you. No one has died because of you."

I sat up.

"A lot of people have died because of me and I can't tolerate it. My mother first. Then my father. Then Caleb. That's more then I can handle. You don't understand what I'm going through." I said

"If you're gonna keep beating yourself up over this, we can't be together. I'm not gonna be there when you kill yourself or when you hurt yourself. I'm not gonna watch the love of my life hurt herself for something that isn't her fault. You know what? This is all making me sick. You say you're dauntless but you're not. You're a weak little girl and if I didn't save you, you wouldn't be dauntless. I can't believe I actually liked you. We are done and I'm glad. I hate you worthless little weakling. "

Tobias angrily walked out of the room. Tears flowed out of my eyes. I laid back down. Uriah and Zeke walked in followed by Will, Christina and Hector.

"What did he do? What happened?" Uriah asked

I shook my head.

"What did he say to you? I swear I will kill him if he hurt you." Zeke said

"Let's give them a minute." Will said as him and Christina went into the waiting room

"He told me he hated me." I said as more tears flowed

"What else did he say?" Zeke said

"He told me I was worthless and weak. He told me that he didn't want me anymore and that he was glad."

"I've never seen her this upset." Uriah said to Zeke

"He doesn't understand anything. Of course I'm gonna beat myself up. I'm the reason my family is dead." I whispered

"I'm going to beat him up. He made Tris like this and he's gonna pay." Zeke said

Zeke POV
I walked angrily out of Tris' hospital room. I walked around and I found Four by the chasm. I walked over to him and grabbed him by this collar. I slammed him against the wall.

"What the hell?" Four said

"How dare you hurt Tris like that! You don't even know how much you hurt her!" I yelled

"What are you talking about?" Four said

"Don't act confused you know exactly what I'm talking about! You broke up with Tris in the rudest way possible and she is lying on the hospital bed blaming herself for all of this and making her like this is not cool!" I yelled

"She's beating herself up for something she couldn't control! She's weak!" Four yelled

I punched him in the face. He fell to the ground. I walked back to the infirmary.
