Tobias POV
After Tris went to sleep, I noticed something sticking out of her jacket. I pulled it out and read it.

Beatrice Prior,
I don't know exactly what to say so I'll just say everything I want to say.
First, I'm sorry I helped Jeanine. I don't know what I was thinking but I know now that it was wrong.
Second,if you're reading this something happened to me. Beatrice, I love you. I always have. I never told you but I do. If you want to look through my apartment I don't mind. You can have anything in there. I don't think Kate will mind.

Blood before faction

That's why she was gone so long.

Tris POV
I saw Will, my mother, father and Caleb with blood stains in their clothes.

"Why did you kill us?" They said in unity

I let the tears fall.

"We will kill Tobias now." Caleb said

Tobias appeared in front of Caleb. Caleb shot him.

"No!" I shrieked

Tobias fell to the ground. I reached for the gun and shot myself.

I woke to someone shaking me. I bolted up and saw it was Tobias. I hugged him.

"Shh. It's okay." Tobias cooed

Tears fell down onto my cheeks. There was a knock at the door.

"Tris?" A deep voice said

Max. I motioned for Tobias to be quiet. I slowly walked toward the door. The banging got louder.

"OPEN THE DOOR!" Max yelled

I opened the door.

"What?" I said

"Kate found something in your brother's apartment. She needs you there immediately." Max said

I grabbed my jacket and boots. I ran out the door with Tobias and Max following close behind. I went into Erudite. Kate led us to the apartment.

"What did you find?" I asked

She showed me where she found it. There was a box under his bed. It had all the faction symbols on it. It lit up when I touched it. I opened the box sitting on his bed. It didn't have memories, it had blueprints and instructions for this box.

"What is it?" Tobias asked

I took another look at the box. The symbols were jumbled up. It was almost like a puzzle. I read the instructions.

Warning, this box is very dangerous and could kill you if you don't do exactly what I say.
1-fix the Amity symbol
2-fix dauntless
3-fix erudite
4-fix candor
5-fix ABneGation

Once I fixed the symbols, there was a click from behind the Dauntless symbol. I read on.

There should've been a click behind Dauntless. Then look on my desk for a key in the shape of Erudite's eye.

"Look on his desk. He said there should be a key shaped like the Erudite eye." I said

Tobias looked around the desk. He found the key and gave it to me.

Insert the key into the Erudite symbol.

I slowly inserted it. The Erudite and Dauntless sides lit up.

Now for the next part. Tris, only you can figure this out. Go to our house and in my room, there should be an Amity key behind my dresser. When you go, put the Faction box into the directions box. Lock the box and carry the box to Abnegation. I wish you luck Beatrice. I love you.

I did what it said and locked up the Faction box. I headed for the door. Tobias stopped me.

"What are you doing?" He asked

Max and Kate looked at me with stern looks.

"To Abnegation." I said

"I'm coming with you." He said

"No. Don't. Caleb gave a warning before I started putting this together. He said to do exactly what the instructions said or I would die. I don't know what this box can do but I don't want anyone, especially you, getting hurt." I said

"We can guard. Make sure no one sees the box. He told me that if anyone saw the light in Abnegation you would have to give it up. I wasn't sure what he was talking about until now." Kate said

I nodded.

"But first, we need to get Kate some Dauntless clothes. If someone sees an Erudite out at 2 in the morning, it won't be pretty." I said

Kate reversed her jacket and shoes then tore off the blue outer layer of pants. We ran to Abnegation. When we got to my house, I ran inside while the rest of them guarded. I ran to his room. There was not dresser. He had a desk and a bed. I pulled the instructions out.

Note: dresser=hair=mirror

I went into the hallway and opened our mirror. The Amity key fell out. I picked it upend put in my jacket. I ran out. Tobias and Kate were gone. Max pulled me as he ran. I ran beside him and we didn't stop until we got to Caleb's apartment.

"Are you okay?" Max asked

"Where are Four and Kate?" I asked

"Distraction. One of the leaders saw Kate. Four said they were playing Dare. They went to Dauntless. I told them I'd meet them there." Max said

I opened the box and slid the Amity key into the Amity symbol. The box rotated and lit up. I put it back in the box and locked it. I read more on the sheet.

The box should've rotated. Now never let that box out of your sight. Never let anyone else touch it. It has your voice and finger print now. If anyone gets ahold of it, you will die. I don't know why but when I made this, I use the wrong device. You have a tracker implanted in your arm. Don't try and remove it. This is all my fault.

I ran back to Dauntless with Max trailing close behind. I went into my apartment. Tobias and Kate stood. I walked in and Max closed the door behind me.

"I'm gonna die." I whispered

Tobias walked over to me.

"I can't stay here. Kate and I need to go back." I said. "I promise, I'll be okay."

Kate and I walked back to Caleb's apartment. When we got there, Kate closed the door behind us.

"Why did you whisper that when you walked into your apartment?" Kate asked

"In the letter, Caleb said that something went wrong in building this and a tracker is in my arm. The box has my voice and fingerprints and if anyone got ahold of the box I could die." I said

"Oh my. Okay, um, I can put guards around the apartment and let no one in." Kate said
