Y/N's POV, 1994
Tommy Lee was my brother, which as you can imagine is a huge pain in the ass sometimes, but it is also the greatest thing in the world because Tommy was a huge ray of sunshine to me. He was a few years older than me and was incredibly protective of me even now, though we're both adults.
And especially since I got introduced to the other guys in Mötley Crüe, all the way back in '81, because he didn't trust me with them at all. Apart from Mick, of course. But, that changed as years went on and for the last almost ten years I've been around the band more than almost anyone else.
I've seen their highs and lows, and although I've not agreed with every decision they've all made, individually or as a band, I supported them because they were my friends, and my brothers friends.
Things were turbulent right now in the world of Mötley Crüe, and Nikki and Tommy were stressed. The band hadn't been doing as well the last couple of years since all the shit with Vince went down. They'd alienated a lot of fans and even if fans were still standing by them, most of them weren't happy with them. The album they'd released earlier in the year had done okay, but nothing near what 'Dr Feelgood' had done, not even close. For that album, everything had been insane. And the tour had been crazy on top. They were kings.
But now? No. They had fallen from grace straight into the shitter. And they hadn't taken that well, especially not since they released tour dates and tickets... well... weren't really selling. They'd already been forced to cancel some shows and, according to Tommy, were going having to start grovelling with fans, and plead with them to even come see them perform.
It was taking its toll on the band, Tommy though had an entirely different coping mechanism than Nikki. Tommy was pretending like everything was fine, not to me as much but to the other guys, he was trying to find the positives, as always though to me, admitted how bad things had gotten. He was scared about where that left the band, in both the public sphere and in terms of their label.
Whereas Nikki didn't try and sugarcoat anything to anyone, he knew it was bad and never shut up about it. And that was fine, but he was stressing himself out too much.
They'd just finished a meeting, and I was here to collect Tommy, as his car was currently in a garage and had nobody else available to pick him up. I'd also dropped him off, but had been shopping while I'd been waiting.
I'd been waiting for ten minutes, and at exactly three pm, the guys came out. Well... three did, Mick, John and Tommy, Nikki was nowhere to be seen but he usually was the last one to leave meetings.
Tommy spotted me almost immediately, and dismissed himself from John and Mick, after a few moments of bidding them farewell. He jogged over to the car and got in and smiled at me "Alright? Have a good day?"
"Went shopping, grabbed a couple of things. Got you something for your birthday, but no, I can't tell you what it is because that ruins the surprise." I tell him with a glare as he always tries to get me to tell him his presents despite the fact when I did once tell him, he was disappointed when his birthday came around because he had no surprise.
Tom rolled his eyes "Alright, alright. I'm not gonna ask."
"Good because you'd just complain anyways if I did tell you, cause you're an asshole, I'm, unfortunately, related to. How was the meeting then, get anywhere?"
