CHAPTER NINETY

M I L L E R

"Woah! Ang galing!" Leo exclaimed as he found me teleporting with him inside the mansion.

Pati rin ako. Actually, I was just testing the water. Approximately two minutes earlier ay nasa labas pa kami ni Leo. Unlike last time na sa training ground ako nagsimula, ngayon ay sa mas malayong lugar ako dinala ni Leo.

I was more or less one kilometer away from the mansion. Leo brought me behind a small sari-sari store when he suddenly mentioned about making me teleport by myself.

Noong una ay kinakabahan pa ako. It's more than a kilometer teleportation distance. Mas malayo ng sampung beses sa teleportation na ginagawa ko sa training ground. I was hesitant when I felt so drained the first try. Pero naisip ko na hindi hamak na magiging mas madali na ito lalo na kung kaya ko nang mag-teleport ng hanggang limang beses ng paulit-ulit mula training ground hanggang silid namin ni Axel.

Basically, I can teleport to every place in the Red Mansion. And today was a legendary moment, because finally, I'm able to further the distance of my teleportation target location.

"Dude! That was so cool! D-Did I really... Did I really make it this far?"

"O-Oo. Binabati kita, Miller!" Inabot ni Leo ang kanyang kamay sa akin, he shook my hand, and we did a chest bump out of happiness.

Not long enough the door in the room suddenly creaked open, and it revealed Axel who just got out from the laboratory.

Nabuhay bigla ang pagod niyang mga mata nang makita kami ni Leo na nagdiriwang.

"What's happening?" tanong niya habang palipat-lipat ng tingin sa aming dalawa. Nalilito ata siya sa mga pangyayari.

"Ah! Sir Axel! Magandang balita, magandang balita! Nakay—ah, dapat siguro ay si Miller ang magbalita nito sa inyo." Nabawasan ang malawak na ngiti ni Leo nang mapagtanto ito.

"Oh. So, what is it then?"

"Nakapag-teleport ako ng malayo! Mas malayo pa sa madalas kong teleportation distance!"

Ah—I just blurted it out with pure joy. Like a child.

Natigilan ako sa pagsasalita. I was waiting to see Axel's reaction, pero mukhang hindi niya ata ito na-realize.

Well, that's good then.

To not make it too obvious na nahihiya ako, I quickly continued saying, "Uh. I am carefully learning how to budget my stamina."

One.

Two.

Three.

Akala ko ay wala siyang reaksyon sa balita ko sa kanya. Nang bigla na lang tumalon si Axel at niyakap ako ng mahigpit.

"I'm glad," he whispered.

For a second, I was hesitant to hug him back. I kind of become conscious dahil nasa loob si Leo. Pero nang makita ko na wala naman ata siyang negatibong reaksyon; he just looked at us as if the sight of two guys affectionately hugging each other is a usual thing to see.

Ibinalot ko na rin ang braso ko sa maliit ngunit matigas na baywang ni Axel.

"Thanks."

I noticed a thin smile on Leo's lips. But it didn't seem malicious. Kung mayroon mang tamang mga salita para ilarawan ito siguro ay appreciation at respect.

"Ahem. Uh, siguro bukas na lang tayo magpapatuloy sa training natin, Miller." Paalam sa akin ni Leo. Despite having doubts, hindi pa rin nabahiran ng pagkailang ang boses niya. He just smiled at me then bowed to Axel to bid his goodbye before disappearing to teleport somewhere else.
