Harry's P.O.V:

Seven months later ~

It had been seven months since the accident and it hadn't been easy. There had been a lot of frustration for Y/N as she couldn't remember our life together and each time she remembered something, it was only little. A tiny piece of her memory out of the whole three years we were together.

The doctor said that her memory could come back in small pieces, like a puzzle that she had to fit together. Or, it could come back all at once, but either way, it would take time.

"One step at a time." I kept saying to her, reassuring her that I would be here for her throughout it.

I looked at the whiteboard I had up on the wall with all of the things Y/N had remembered so far. Each time a memory came back, she would write it down, to see her progress.

1. The promise ring.
2. A picnic we had.
3. Our first date.
4. Cuddles we've shared.
5. The time Harry accidentally shut my finger in the door.
6. Christmas spend together.
7. Harry's birthday.
8. The day I passed my driving test.
9. A pillow fight with Harry.
10. An argument with Harry.

I laughed, smiling at the fifth one as I remembered how much I had fussed over her, bandaging her finger up,  kissing it and apologising profusely.

"Harry?" I heard Y/N say and I turned to face her as she stood next to me.

"Y/N, I'm sorry for all of the times I argued with you. When you told me you remembered us arguing, I felt like my heart was breaking. You've done so well with gaining your memory back and for it to be something negative and caused by me, I'm sorry." I apologised, feeling awful for all of the times I argued with her.

She remembered the last one a few days ago and had kept her distance from me ever since. She had told me her memory, telling me she was reluctant to tell me at first because she knew it would hurt me.

"It's okay, I didn't mean to not tell you about it straight away, but I do love you. It just set me back a bit because I wasn't expecting such an upsetting memory to come back." She explained, coming closer to me and rubbing my shoulder, comfortingly.

"You don't have to comfort me, I know that despite everything, this is still like a relatively new, seven month,  relationship to you because you don't remember the last three years of us." I reassured her, letting out a shaky breath as my eyes began to water.

"It is, but knowing I was with you before and remembering some of that, makes it feel more familiar." She told me as I refused to look at her, knowing that if I did I would burst into tears.

We had days where I would cry and she would try to comfort me and days where we would do something together and have fun, like we used to.

"I remember making it up with you." She stated and I turned to look her in the eyes.

"You do?" I asked, hopeful and she smiled.

"I do and I remember you apologising to me and being really lovely, just like you were the day you trapped my finger in the door." She giggled, pointing at the fifth sentence on the list.

"I'm so sorry about that, I really didn't mean to." I chuckled and she smiled.

"I know you didn't and it's okay." She laughed, picking up the whiteboard pen and writing down her eleventh memory.

"Hey, can we do some baking?" She asked.

"Baking? We haven't done that in a while." I stated.

"I know, but I had a little bit of my memory come back to me and we were baking, I know that much. Maybe if we bake something, it'll all come back to me." She suggested.
