Narrator: A few days have past as Ash, Brock and Serena returned to Pallet Town after Ash's win over Richie in the Viridian Gym.
In that time, our heroes took some time to focus on their preparations toward both tournaments as both had almost been non-stop training.
The group that was in the gym a few days ago had split up. Grace had to say goodbye, needing to take care of Ryhorn, who was watched by a friendly neighbour.
Misty had to return to the Cerulean Gym as her sisters had called and moaned about the endless line of challengers waiting for her.
Gary and Shauna had taken a small detour after being sent on an errand mission by professor Oak, who himself had traveled back with Delia, Brock, Ash and Serena.
It was after one of those intensive mornings that Ash and Serena glanced at each other. Both were panting and sweating but smiling nonetheless.
"How about we take this afternoon off?" Ash suggested.
"Doing what?" Serena questioned.
At this, Ash smirked at her. "Don't worry about it. I've got something in mind."
"Alright..." Serena said, a bit hesitant but curious. "Let me freshen up first then. I don't wanna be doing things in these sweaty clothes." She giggled.
Ash glanced at her and then chuckled.
"You could also use a shower, Ash. You stink!" She said, now getting to the point of laughing.
Ash also laughed. "Atleast in not smelling as bad as you." He said, a teasing tone in his voice.
Serena gasped and looked hurt. "You mean that?" She asked.
Ash looked at her with guild, realising he overstepped a boundary. However before he could apologise, Serena laughed in his face. This made Ash also laugh as both returned back home to the Ketchum residence.
Their morning had been very active. While Ash had all his Pokémon here in Kanto, Serena had dialed her mum to transfer Altaria and Deerling to her so that they could have some proper training.
While she mostly worked on her routines, she would also hold practice battles with Ash in order to strengthen up for the battle rounds if she made it that far.
Ash on the other side had changed a little in his training. His fight against Richie had made him realise that he wasn't strong enough and made him feel like he was just another trainer to challenger. Therefore, he had upped the difficulty of their training.
He had his Pokémon train in groups. Most groups consisted out of the same type match ups while some others worked with the Pokémon that acceled at the same thing as them. As an example, Greninja and Sceptile trained together, bolstering their speed.
