I'm Admired But He Is Feared

Chapter Twenty-Two

"Hey Sofie" Samantha calls out to me before I walk past her desk.

"Yeah?" I ask walking towards her desk.

"Mr Peace told me to inform everybody that there is an emergency meeting going on so you best head down to the room" She informs me.

"Ok, thanks" I might as well leave my bag with Samantha if that's the case. "Do you mind if I leave my bag with you?" Her eyes flick down to the bag on my wrist as she smiles.

"Of course" Handing the bag over to her I jog to the meeting room so I don't be late.

I'm on time to the office but a lot of the other people come earlier from what I've been told. Opening the door to the meeting room I look around to see there's only a few people here. Looks like I'm early then.

Noticing a blonde head I know that it's immediately Michael from the way it's styled as well. Shutting the door behind me I go and take a seat next to him as he scrolls through his phone.

"Hello" I say making him distract his eyes away from the phone.

A wide smile appears on his face as he looks at me.

"Hey Sofie" Running a hand through my fringe Michael's eyes stay on my hands.

"You're engaged, congratulations" He says with excitement.

Looking down at my own hand I notice that I was using my left hand to run my hand through it. It's nice knowing that I have a fiancé now. I guess it shows the love between me and Gerry.

"Thanks...you know it feels like he just proposed to me before I came into the office" Michael is very happy for me because he pulls me in a quick hug.

"Again, congratulations. Hopefully, I'll be able to find someone as well" He tells me with a distant look in his eyes.

"Michael, you are probably the most caring and friendliest guy that I ever know. Any girl would be lucky to have you in their life" I inform him.

"It's nice to hear that from you" He says with a goofy smile.

I return it back making him laugh. Mr Peace still hasn't come into the room yet...wonder where he is. Me and Michael start talking about random things as well as what we have to do for today as well. Each person that came in the room Michael would tell them that I'm engaged making them all congratulate and question me- especially the females.

Sandra and her group of friends were the first to come and actually approach me. They started asking dozen of questions and they're now asking me to show them a picture of Gerry,

"This is him" I say.

I show them a picture of me and Gerry when we graduated from high school with our hats and cloaks on.

"Your fiancé is hot!" The blonde next to me exclaims.

Proudness runs through my mind from her words. People tell me Gerry is a good looking man all the time which is why sometimes I find it so hard to believe that he willingly accepted me in his life.

"He is isn't he" Sandra says while staring at the picture of the both of us.

"So you're both high school sweethearts, that's so romantic" The red head says this time.

"Yeah...we are" I tell her with a smile on my face.

Michael looked uncomfortable from all of the females that were surrounding him. He did mention to me that he doesn't have a sister so it must be weird for him right now.

"What were your parent's reactions?" Sandra asks me.

Wait....I haven't even told mum and dad about this. I'm such an idiot, no wonder I as racking my brains out last night. I forgot to tell my own parents that I'm engaged!
