CHAPTER 67: WORSE

note: after five months, here's an update. finally! sorry for the long wait, survivors.

"Please say something if you're still in there."

Chanyeol's deep and worried voice replaced the silence in the dark spaces of the room. Beside the unanswered walkie talkie, Jongdae sat motionless with his face against his knees. Spoiled guts and blood were left staining his clothes as his trembling fingers grasped his own hair.

"Why aren't you answering back?"

Kanina pa nasalpak ni Jongdae ang mga bagong baterya, kanina niya pa naririnig ang lahat ng sinasabi ni Chanyeol. Pero sa nakalipas na isang oras, nanatiling nakayuko't walang imik si Jongdae.

"Be careful, Hyung. Stay at somewhere safe."

Chanyeol didn't get tired of reaching them out, being a worried wreck and patiently waiting to hear their voices again - hoping they're all okay. Kahit walang sumasagot pabalik sa kanya't nagmumukha na siyang tanga, hindi tumigil si Chanyeol.

"Jongdae hyung? Yifan hyung?"

His ocean deep voice continued floating to Jongdae's ears who still didn't move a single muscle. Wala siyang lakas ng loob para magsalita o gumalaw man pagkatapos ng nangyari sa kanila sa araw na ito. He was too tired and confused and frustrated. He was drained out and not okay...

"Please be okay."

Without any notice, tears slowly dripped down his cheeks. He had no idea when was the last time he felt warm tears. It was all quick and depressing. Tulad ni Kyungsoo, hindi si Jongdae yung tipo na basta basta mong makikitaan ng luha. Despite of being inside a shitty planet, he always showed his tough and jolly side but not now - when everything went shittier.

"Please, say something if you're still in there. Jebalyo."

Pagkatapos ng linyang iyon, bumalik ang katahimikan sa paligid. Napaangat ng ulo si Jongdae nang wala na siyang narinig na boses mula sa walkie talkie. Hindi na niya narinig pa si Chanyeol. His voice was suddenly gone, making Jongdae flinch and grab the device as tons of worries terrified him.

Sumuko na ba si Chanyeol sa kaka-contact sa kanila? Paano kung sa kanila naman may nangyaring masama? Paano kung sila naman ang naubusan ng baterya? Paano kung hindi na niya ulit sila makakausap pa? Paano kung pati sila ay mawala sa kanya?

"Hyung!"

But his tears were somehow stopped after the same voice broke out of the device. It startled him yet made him smile in relief. Akala niya may nangyari ng kung anuman sa kanila hanggang sa nagkwento si Chanyeol about how bad this day was.

Napatakip na lang ng mukha si Jongdae pagkatapos malaman ang pagkawala ng RV kung nasaan yung ibang members. The events were suffocating, making him stare blankly at the device. He couldn't take in how worse their situation turned into.
