"A-ACHOO!"

My thirteenth sneeze since I had woken up forty minutes ago.

"Ughhh, no!" I groaned at myself, as I exited the shower, and started dressing up.

"It's not time for a cold!" I buttoned up my shirt, "Not when it's Christmas, please!"

I sighed at myself as I slipped into my pencil skirt, and then exited the bathroom.

About eight months had passed since Harveston's incident.

The eight past months somehow passed quite smoothly. I remained at my job, Theo turned twelve, and he finished his school year.

Well, actually summer passed quite fast ─like it always does, as for the autumn months, they were worse than boring.

And, pretty much, my work at the Ellington Company was smooth; Mr. Leonard and Sarah were still as nice as ever, as for his majesty, though... Well, I still have not been able to reach the conclusion what exactly he sees  me as? Like, what am I to him?

A mosquito, or a potato?

He's quite remarkable. Still the cold and intriguing man he's always been. Unchanging.

Well, at any case, December was here now, and that's that! Wuhoo!

Katy was already waiting for me in the kitchen, the smell of her special-made pancakes filled my nostrils and almost made me drool.

"Good morning!" I cheered, as I ran towards her and kissed her cheek.

God, I'm really glad things have come back to the way they were.

As I sipped onto my hot chocolate, the vibration of Katy's phone caught my attention.

"Wow. Who's that so early on?"

Katy fidgeted, and shifted uncomfortably.

She swallowed the bit of her pancake she was chewing, and answered:

"It's... Leonard." she managed hesitantly.

I blinked.

"M-Mr. Leonard?"

Teasing-Cherry mode: on.

"Tsk, tsk. Is that a blush on your face, Miss Martins?" I purred.

"I can read your thoughts through your face, stupid bunny, and no! It's not what you think!" she frowned.

"You're even on first name basis with him, Katy!" I protested.

"Charlotte," she pronounced my full name, "My... connection to Leonard Beards is something different." she breathed.

"I am not ready for a relationship currently. He didn't even say he loved me. I don't love him, either. He knows my case, and respects that. What connects us now is nothing close to love, it might be friendship, but somehow... It's maybe a bit deeper."

"F-Friends with benefits?" I blushed.

A hint of blush crept to her ears.

"You perverted little one. No! We are most certainly not that!"

I blushed deeper.

"Sowwy." I whispered, childishly.

She chuckled, and smiled at me.
