It had been over 2 months since Conor had uploaded his first cover. We were still happily in a relationship and college couldn’t be going any better, I was on track for all my grades and I was working hard. Life was great. Conor kept uploading covers onto his YouTube channel and the views kept on going up. He had already received 10,000 views on breathe and they were going up by huge amounts each day. I was so proud of him. “Thank you.” We were just walking around town when Conor randomly came out with this. “For what?” I didn’t know what he was talking about so I looked confused. “For getting me started with my covers, it was your idea and I wouldn’t have done it without you,” Conor had a kind smile on his face when he said this and he slowly leant in and kissed me. “I may have got you started but you’re the talented one here.” I wasn’t going to let Conor make me take any of the credit here, it’s all him. “You know, I’ve never heard YOU sing before…” I didn’t like what Conor was getting at. “Please don’t tell me that you want me to sing…” He had a big cheeky grin on his face, “Please…” “No Conor.” He looked upset. “For me…” I hated it when Conor made me feel bad like this so I had to give in. “Ugh, fine.” I rolled my eyes at him and sang the chorus of ‘Next to you’ by Chris Brown Right in the town centre. Once I had finished he applauded and had a huge smile slapped on his face. “Next cover. You’re going to be in it.” “But Conor I’m not even THAT good and besides, this is your thing not mine.” Conor wasn’t going to give up. “Look, I think you’re amazing and by doing this, we can see who else does!”

I was at Conor’s and everything was set up, I had given in to him and agreed to upload a cover of us both singing. We were singing ‘Next to you,’ it was Conor’s idea as it was the first song I ever sang to him. I was really nervous and I didn’t know why. I was only singing in a room with Conor. I guess I was scared about what other people would think of me but I couldn’t say no to Conor now. “You ready?” he smiled at me. “No…” I really wasn’t but he just laughed. Conor was playing the piano for this, another talent I didn’t know about. He began playing and then before I knew it the song was finished. We did a few takes to make sure everything was perfect and after an hour, Conor was happy. “You were amazing.” I said to him. He gave me a huge hug and I wrapped my arms tightly around him, I never wanted to let go. “So are you.” He rested his cheek on the top of my head and we just stood there for a few minutes, in each other’s arms, non-moving. His brother, Jack, interrupted our hug as he burst through the door; “sorry…didn’t mean to interrupt,” jack gave his brother a quick wink and quickly left again. I stayed at Conor’s for hours, watching him edit our music and by 6:00 he was done. He replayed it to me and I don’t like to brag but our voices sounded great together. “Okay, aannndddd, done. Our cover is now uploaded!” Oh no, I regret it already, I can already see the bad comments now. What had I done? Conor tried to reassure me that I was amazing but I don’t know…

It had been one week since our cover had been uploaded. It had 3000 views and was increasing by each day. Not one bad comment. Everyone at college was telling me how good I was and I couldn’t believe it. People actually liked me. It was amazing. I had the boys round. Conor, Alex, George and Tonez. We were all just chilling downstairs talking about what we should do this weekend when Alex shouted out, “Have you to done it yet then?” George and Tonez burst out laughing but I just put my head down and could tell I was blushing. “Alex mate, not really any of your business is it,” Conor winked at Alex but he was persistent. “Oh come on guys, you can tell us, we are your friends, it’s not like we’re going to tell anyone.” I was getting annoyed now. I didn’t like Alex asking this kind of questions, I love him and all but he does take it too far sometimes. “I just don’t want to talk about it okay.” I got up and went upstairs to the bathroom. I sat down on the floor with the bathroom door locked and there was a faint knock at the door. “I’m fine Conor don’t worry.” “It’s not Conor, can I come in?” I recognised Alex’s voice and I didn’t know if I wanted to talk to him just yet but I didn’t want to upset him so I quickly got up and unlocked the door. “I’m sorry (Y/N), I didn’t mean to upset you,” Alex wrapped his arms around me and I couldn’t help but hug him back. He may be a twat sometimes but you couldn’t help but love him. “Am I forgiven?” he smiled at me and I just nodded my head and he hugged me tighter, lifting me off the air. “ALEX!! PUT ME DOWN!!” I giggled and he put me down again. “Come on lets go back downstairs.” I gently punched his shoulder and we made our way back to the rest of the boys. Conor gave me a look as to say ‘are you okay?’ and I nodded my head with a smile on my face. “So then, Nando’s Saturday?” I asked and we all began chatting again.
