Jeric rubbed his eyes then shook his head. He looked to William who was frowning. 'You are sure?' Jeric asked

'Yes sir. We found a scroll with the body. It was in Japanese so we had to have it translated. It was a clear declaration of war from the Takeda clan. Roman, Gillian, Marcus, Richard, and Sandra are all dead. You are the last one left unless they plan to go after the kids.' William shook his head. 'After what Roman pulled, I would not be too surprised if they did. Hunter is pissed sir. I do not know if there is a way we can fix this.' Jeric sighed and stared at the screen showing Hunter sleeping in her room. The bruises from the last attack on her were starting to fade. She had been cleared for duty last night, and had spent most of the day in the forge. He loved to watch her work.

'Leave me for a moment William.' Jeric said 'I want to try something.' William nodded and walked out. Jeric picked up the phone and dialed. The cell phone on the nightstand rang. Hunter looked to it not looking awake. She picked it up frowning.

'Hello?' She asked confused.

'Hello Hunter.' Jeric greeted with a somber tone. Her eyes narrowed as she sat up

'You have some serous gall calling me ass hole.' she snarled 'Don't you think you and your sick twisted family have bothered me enough?' Jeric sighed.

'It is just me now.' He said. 'Your men have killed my family. Look Hunter, I called to make a deal with you. I had nothing to do with my asinine brother's plan. Neither did my kids or nieces and nephews. I am calling to make peace with you.'

'Why should I?' she snapped standing and pacing. 'I have done no wrong to you or your sick family, and yet you attack, rape, torture, and make me think my family is dead? Give me one good reason to have my clan back off?' Jeric sighed

'I will leave you alone.' He said. 'What happened with Rome was my fault. I knew how,' he paused looking for a word; 'I guess twisted is the best word to describe him. I should have never gone to him for help, and I never would have approved of the lie he and Gillian told you. Let there be peace between us, and I will never bother you again. I have gone legit, and no longer have any illegal business so there is no reason we should ever cross paths again.' He sighed again 'Even if you refuse, you should know that I am sealed in an underground bunker. No one can get in our out without me. Your people cannot get to me here unless I let them in.' Hunter was silent as she paced the floor before her bed. She shook her head.

'No. You want to save your family; there is just one thing that will make me call off my clan. You. I want you Jeric. Surrender yourself to my people and I will end the war.'

Jeric smiled. He had had a feeling it would come down to that. He was not ready to give up his own life to save his nieces and nephews. His two sons and daughter were safe in the bunker with him. She could have the others.

'Sorry my dear Hunter.' He said 'I love those kids, but not enough to sacrifice myself. My offer sands however. If you call off your clan, I will never bother you again. You have my number now if you change your mind.' He hung up and set down the phone. Hunter glared at her phone in disgust.

'Fucking coward.' She snarled and tossed the phone on the nightstand. She shook her head and left the room. He used the cameras to follow her to the forge. She went to work on the same piece she had started that morning. It looked like some kind of armor.
