"Stoic, my boy, just the person I wanted to see."

I smiled at my father, saying the endearment that meant something to me, but not to others.  "Elex, I heard you were here.  Enjoying yourself?"  I tipped my drink to the stage.  My father grinned at me and shook his head.

"Despite the circumstances yes, but I want to introduce you to someone.  This is Kohle Vint.  We were just talking about you."

I reached out and shook the darkest hand I had ever seen.  His skin was unnaturally perfect and almost a midnight black.  He was well built, even for a vampire.

Kohle was very stern and straight to the point.  "I was interested in this club, it seems it is one of the few successful monetary investments you have."

"This is the only one I have invested in myself, all the other ones were.... handed down."

He raised one eyebrow slightly at me, but I didn't continue.  There was no way I wanted to sell this club.

"Stoic helped build this place back up when he was a human.  It's was his first adventure in the business world."

"Maybe we could come into an agreement of sorts.  I'm fond of the idea you have set up.  A profitable business to cover the transactions that go on in the back.  I have tried to acquire a few set ups like this, but no one wants to sell, and its hard to get clientele in the same area.  Would you consider expanding?"

I hadn't considered expanding honestly.  Even though I had lost a bit of income from the change of hands, I still had plenty to make ends meet.  "What's to keep you from running the name of this club into the ground?  If you buy into the name of Club Bare, it could ruin my name.  What's my insurance you won't."

He stared at me coldly.  "We can talk prices later, but I would let you have as much control as you want.  I prefer you to have it all.  I only want to be held as owner or silent partner."

"I could do this all myself, why do I need you?"

"You don't, which is why I am footing the bill for the build, then we can split the profit, or debt, once the place opens.  If all goes as I want, I might be interested in opening a few more, in other states of course.  I'm not interested in making a chain name.  We don't even have to keep the same name as this one, I only want something associated with this club."

"I think we could work something out.  I'll be in contact, if you'll excuse me, I have new dancers tonight and need to check on them."  I gave them both a nod and walked away.  I needed to do some research about him before I agreed to anything.  I'm not to sure why I would want to go into such agreement with him.  I could expand on my own, but my father wouldn't have introduced me to him for nothing.

On the positive side, if he was a well known name, it could benefit me in the future.  Ruth had given me the best education possible, but had left me out on current events and politics, a sort of who's who right now and it had only left me blind.  My father was some help, but I couldn't lean on him or grandpap.  It would make me look weak, piggy backing off someone else.

My work mind came to a halt and left all together when I looked up.  Stacy was glistening from sweat and still moving.  Her tight skirt rode up as she shimmied down and her hands ran up and down her body, all while looking me straight in the eye.  When she came to stand up fully, her eyes closed again and she turned away from me, leaving me with that haunting moment that ran over and over in my mind.

I loved teasing Stacy, making her blush, making her uncomfortable, and in one moment, she had repaid the favor.  I hadn't blushed, but I was teased and slightly uncomfortable downstairs.  I made my way to Ted's office.

"What exactly did you give the girls?  Because they are dancing like whores!  This isn't a low class strip joint Ted."  I ground out.

Ted sat in his leather office chair, nervous to look me in the eye.  "Thump.  I didn't know it would take so long to fully kick in and I might have gave them more than they needed.  It won't happen again."

I gripped my forehead, not wanting to throw my best asset into the wall.  "When will Dan and her girls be back?"

"Hopefully tomorrow, I think it's some 24 hour bug humans get.  Even old Cooter is out."

"Hire more dancers.  Like on call or some shit so this doesn't happen again."  I sat down and fully faced him.  Ted had helped me with this place and if I ever wanted to open anything like it I would need his experience and opinion.  I calmed my voice.  "How long does it take for the thump to wear off?"

"A few hours to all night.  These girls might have to sleep it off."

"Just don't kill them, I need them to clean my mansion."

I couldn't handle it any more and left.  I needed to do research on Kohle Vint.  I didn't find anything about him in Ruth's records.  I hadn't ever come across his name, she hadn't done any business with him, and that alarmed me.  Ruth had her finger in everything.

I searched his name online and found little to nothing.  I resorted to my last resource currently.  I didn't want to ask my Dad, I wanted to figure this out on my own.

"Yeah," I said out loud after I heard  a knock on the door.  I was currently in the study.  Ruth had done most of her paperwork here and I didn't feel the need to change it.

"You summoned me?"  I looked at Richard with a hard glare and he quickly added on "Master."  I knew it ate him up having to call me that.  He wasn't a human, but it was a show of respect to your employer, plus I basically owned his ass now.  I tortured him often, nothing physical, just being cruel and heartless like most vampires with money are, and I got a bit of enjoyment out of it.  I still treated him like a brother sometimes, he was the closest thing I had to that growing up here.

"Do you know of a man named Kohle Vint?  And why Ruth never did business with him?"

Richard lips took a form I didn't want to see at the moment.  His words captured the grin on his face.  "I do."

I waited, glaring at him like the idiot he is to continue, but had to take his bait if I wanted my answer.  "And?  Who is he?"  I said, slightly annoyed and snappy.

"If I tell you I want the weekend off."

"Fine, but you are to remain on call if I need you."  Richard had become my sort of secretary and go to person.  Ruth had handled much of her work herself, being a control freak that she was.  I don't know how she ever had time to play, but the secrets she kept, I was still finding those out.

"He's a black man and Ruth didn't do business with him."

"I know he is black.  I met him.  Why?  Didn't Ruth get along with him?"  Richard moved to sit in my chair without permission, but I sensed this might be a good topic.

"He and Ruth are sort of opposites.  She liked to torture and play, he doesn't.  It doesn't make him any less of a vampire.  He is just straight to the point, always."

What Richard was saying fit what I had gathered.  I could see how that would dampen Ruth's spirits.  He was a complete buzzkill for anyone that liked to manipulate and toy.  "What about in the business world?  Is he a bad name?"

"Not too sure, Ruth never dealt with him after their first encounter and they avoided each other after. I haven't heard anything bad about him, or Ruth would have said something.  Women love to pick at any attribute they can when they go on a hating spree.  His business name wasn't one of them."

"You're free this weekend, starting Friday after work and ending Monday morning."  When his lips turned up and he was full blown smiling, I had to kill it a little.  "Unpaid of course and you have to answer my call."

His face fell considerably and that made me happy.  "You're dismissed."
