Vlogmas Day 20: Ice Skating Pros!

                 

Reminiscing the events taking place in chapter 9 of Dating a YouTuber?!

It is weird to think that it was over a year and a half ago when I brought Abbs here for the first time. We had escaped my sister's crowded café and come here to do something fun. Back then it hadn't been very busy but in the run up to Christmas it is a different story.

I point the camera at my feet skating on the ice but I still need to look up to make sure I don't run into anyone, so I don't know how good the footage will be.

I come to a stop and look back to where Abbs is clinging to the edge. She still needs to get a feel of the ice before daring to embark onto the middle of the ice rink. She's the most adorable Bambi on ice and I can't help but zoom in on her antics.

Her legs seem so long and as if she's not really in control of them. She spots me vlogging her and scrunch her nose in my direction.

No one really knows that this was the place where Abbs and I had our first date. I didn't vlog one bit of it. People would see me heading to my sister's café and the beautiful sunset in our spot in Hyde Park but not this. It's our secret place and it's not a place someone would think to be the spot of a first date in May.

Abbs finally leaves the edge and skates towards me. However, her stopping mechanism still needs some work so she bangs into the edge next to me only staying on her feet because of her tight grip on it. Her legs and skates slide around beneath her.

"Alright there, love?" I say with a chuckle.

"Absolutely fine," she says with fake confidence. "I'm obviously a skating pro."

"Of course you are, darling," I say sarcastically. "In for a race then? You might beat me when we're in running shoes but how about in skates?"

I take off and dash around the rink, leaving her. I have no doubt she'll take up the challenge.

It might be slightly hazardously vlogging in a crowded ice rink but there's no way I'm not showing this. It kind of feels like our first date and I'm getting all the same butterflies as back then. Abbs isn't opposed to my vlogging camera anymore and now I can finally capture it for everyone to see.

I have the camera pointed at my face and I see Abbs behind me, going at a considerable speed. Once she gets her "ice legs", she's actually quite good.

No, I take it back, she isn't.

I see her come too close to me; probably in an effort to beat me, and our skates collide. It knocks me off balance and I fall. I let my vlogging camera slide out of my hand and focus on catching Abbs, who is going down too.

"Urgh," I mutter as we both hit the ice but I manage to break most of Abbs' fall. She's now on top of me, and her shocked expression quickly changes into an amused one.

"My noble lord," she whispers and she leans down to peck my lips. "Sorry I knocked us over."

"Never mind, milady."

"But maybe it was just payback from last time we were here and you made me go blind and tripped me over," she says, cheekily reminding me of our first time crashing on the ice together.

A stranger comes to help us up and also hands me Vloggie, who is miraculously okay and still filming. I wonder what of it, it captured.
