Peter was a very awkward person, the others couldn't take him anywhere, he would knock things over in shops, walk into people, stutter embarrassingly and just generally fuck up.
While getting fitted for a suit for James' wedding an attendant told him a shirt suited the shape of his torso and his reply was "yeah, you too"
He was so awkward that while living with the others after Hogwarts he would often end up running into James' room during sexy times, boner and all, because he'd ended up making his fuck buddy laugh with his awkward comments.
