Peter was quite timid towards all Professors, he was afraid of getting in trouble on his own behalf but completely forgot they were in the room when he couldn't see them. This resulted in him being told off multiple times for being too loud or swearing, but McGonagall mostly just let it slide because it was nice to see him opening up and coming out of his shell. Peter realised this and McGonagall quickly became his favourite teacher.
I'm still really into 'Ask The Marauders' questions if have any, they're suppperrrr dooopedyyyy fun to answer so, y'know, hmu.
