Weapon in hand you glared down the remaining insects. Give or take about five were circling you, while the two boys had to deal with at least twenty of them. You waited, they could come towards you first. If TV taught you anything, it had to be that making the first move was always your first mistake. Out of your peripherals you could see a bug sneakily creeping towards you. You adjusted the grip you had on your weapon slightly so that when the bug sprang up, you could impale it. The bug sprang up and you took the chance to ram the blade of the weapon through its head. The defeat of one of their kind seemed to make the other bugs spring to life. Two lunged at you at the same time; you managed to cut the one on your left, but blocked a hit from the one that came with it. Warm liquid dripped down your left forearm and you resisted the urge to clutch the wound tightly. You pulled your weapon back and slashed at the bug that just wounded you, making it vanish in midair. Pain shot out from your ankle, a black bug had come up from the ground to attack you. Like the first you impaled the bug again. A chill shot up from your back. With a panic you realized that you had neglected the fifth bug who had made its way up when you had your back turned. You tried to throw the bug off but its claws had dug deep into the surface of your back. BANG The bug disappears and you wince in pain. It definitely dug its claws into you deep and that's no joke. "Are you ok??" A blond runs up to you. He's slender, with a friendly smile on his face. He stands beside you protectively. ".... I'm fine, for the most part." Moving your torso the slightest bit causes a wave a pain to shoot through you. More fighters are helping the two boys from earlier fend off the insects. "That heartless venom hurts pretty badly. I'd take it easy if I-" They're back... but why?Each bug had a certain glow to it, you noticed, varying from every shade of the rainbow to a swirling array of colors. Every single one of them had been outlined in black with a grayish haze.

Your vision blurs, shooting in and out of focus as you stare at the colors around you. The blackish haze remains, but the colors swirls off. The color surrounds you like a dance. You twist your body and follow the strange vision, was it a ghost, or what was it? The haze solidifies ever so slightly and you can make out an old man grinning like a Cheshire-Cat
Good good! Now free the others!

Are you a ghost?! How did I do that!?

Just think of me as an old man who can make himself useful from occasion to occasion. Now calm down, and look around again.O-O-ok.. You took a deep breath to brace yourself and opened your eyes The sparks of colors: blues, reds, greens, yellows, purples, blacks, greys, pink, orange, turquoise; had all began to circle in erratic motions around the bugs. There was a gray darkness surrounding the colors, dulling them. The colors looked like they wanted to do nothing more than to escape.
You could see his eyes watching you expectantly, you weren't quite sure what to do anymore... You closed your eyes instinctively and took in a sharp breath. Would it be enough to wish they were free? It looks like those colors are trapped... Everyone froze, watching the colors circulate the heartless. After all the battles they'd went through this had never happened to them before, and this didn't expect this to happen either. The girl with the [H/C] hair, and the [E/C] eyes watched the colors swirl, her [E/C] eyes reflecting the colors as if they'd been translucent. She lifted a single hand into the air. The sweat pooled at the top of her head, catching in her bangs. No one had noticed for the most part, still entranced by the swirls of colors that danced across the garden, bringing color back to the courtyard. Even Prompto, who had stood right besides her, followed the bright green trail of a frozen heartless. The whole scene looked like a connect-the-dots painting gone terribly wrong, in the most beautiful way. Each individual heartless appeared as the center to a universe, colors and hues swirling around it endlessly. The colors intertwined, and danced like partners finding each other, intensifying as they did so. The dulled colors had began giving off their own light, making an painting of blinding intensity. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "What the hell is that?!" Cid mumbled as he pulled his gummi ship closer to Middangeard. "It's the spirits of the hearts, trapped in the heartless." Mickey said in a jawdropped awe "How is that possible?!"
"It shouldn't be..."

The girl exhaled the breath she didn't know she had been holding. She dropped her arm to her side, and the colors swirled around each other like a tempest, finally reaching the peak of their cycle. She raised her dominant hand and spun it slowly in a circle. The streaks shot out, like shooting stars traveling across the sky, going near and far. Every heartless in the courtyard had faded away into nonexistence. The black skyline had been brought to life. The girl's eyes dulled to a black color. Her entire body went limp, each part of her pulling her to the ground as if chains had bound her. Prompto had snapped to his senses, stretching his arm out to grab onto your arm. "Hey! Hey! Are you ok?!" He shook her limp body. "Wake up! Guys! She passed- she's unconscious!" Prompto yelled. He reached for the phoenix down in his pocket

"Don't bother! Bring her up and all of you get on board! NOW!" Mickey yelled from his place on the gummi ship. An entryway resembling a staircase had been opened to all of them. Prompto, Noctis, Snow, Serah, Lightning, Vanille, Fang, Yuj, and Maqui hopped on board automatically.
"Whatcha waiting for?" Mickey yelled out to the remaining three. Denzel, Hope, and Marlene shared a look before they joined everyone else on the airship. Mickey appeared, eyes widening as he noticed the black vapor seeping from the girl's wounds "Follow me Prompto." He said, quickly walking off.
"Mickey! How'd you know to come here?" Noctis called out, making the mouse pause for a second "Sephiroth had a feeling" Mickey replied, quickly walking off "Cid! Old man! What the hell's going on?!" Denzel yelled vocalizing the question that everyone had been thinking "I'll be damned if I know kid." Cid shook his head. Now Try Not to Fall Too HardThe silver haired senior made his way through the empty courtyard. It was so strange to see the place so still, but he had just gotten back from a mission after all. Mickey had wanted a briefing with all the details of his extended visit to Earth. He hadn't been able to accompany everyone else back to Middangeard, his mission just wasn't finished with that behemoth. You were probably already settled into Middangeard well he decided. He didn't need to spare the ragtag band of survivors too much thought. After all, Genesis and Angeal even went with the underclassman."Hey Sephiroth." It had been a female's voice, and oddly familiar for some reason. He treated females with caution, his fanclub girls were completely obsessive, and you could never tell when you had a crazy one on your hands."Farron??" "My name's Serah, Lightning's sister." The pink haired girl did resemble his fellow senior. Last he saw Serah though she looked different. This one looked more mature, grown."Right." He narrowed his eyes slightly "You look... different""Wow! You do notice everything!" He had no use for a meaningless conversation. Turning on his heel Sephiroth walked away from the pink haired girl.Serah bit down on her lip "Middangeard is in danger..."He paused in his stride. Did she speak the truth, or was this a ploy for attention? But then again he never remembered Serah being a fangirl... she was attached to the hip with her boyfriend."How do you know this?"It's.... complicated, but that girl you saved... She's in trouble."".... Why should I care about a girl?" Why should he care about the one thing that hasn't gotten off his mind? Why should he care about that strong-willed girl who risked her life for a stranger? Why should he care about her"You can let her be your greatest ally or your greatest foe. Only time will tell. My time here is done, remember save Middangeard.""What do you- she disappeared..."Sephiroth considered the validity of Serah's claims. She never seemed like the kind of girl to lie, nor would it benefit her in any way to lie to him. However Middangeard was infact a triad school. The triad schools were all very powerful places, headed by the strongest of the lands. Mickey was in charge of Lucere, Ansem was in charge of Middangeard with Xemnas in charge of Deorcnyess. Although Ansem was not a fighter he was capable of creating forcefields that repel the darkness and kept Middangeard safe through his scientific discoveries. It should be safe... Yet something inside him disagreed with that. "It wouldn't hurt to tell him I suppose." With that settled Sephiroth continued to Mickey's office.Upon entering Mickey's office he was surprised to see Genesis sitting in one of the armchairs. He slouched in the chair and lazily rested his elbow on one of the arms, propping his head off. In his left hand he held a book, unsurprising it was Loveless."Ah Sephiroth good of you to join us!" Mickey smiled at him. He nodded and took the chair besides Genesis."You're late." Loveless shut soundlessly while Genesis straightened up"Someone had to talk to me," He thought back to Serah's warning and the nagging feeling that something wasn't right. "Speaking of which Mickey what state is Middangeard in?"Mickey tilted his head "Last I checked it was fine, is something wrong with it?""... I was given a message that it may be in danger.""This wouldn't have to do with Earth's refugees would it?" Genesis slid his eyes over to Sephiroth, gauging his reaction. As always though Sephiroth gave nothing away.Sephiroth knew Genesis could sense something was off, a result of their friendship "It could be related.""I have to meet with Ansem anyways. I can book a ship there after this meeting." Mickey knew that Sephiroth wouldn't give him useless information. If he mentioned it then it had to be bothering him.The two gave Mickey the briefing quickly. Genesis had left most of the talking to Sephiroth while he speculated what had happened to Middangeard. He could only smile as he imagined you fighting the heartless again. Although you were untrained, raw determination guided you, not to mention there was almost an elegant sort of grace to your motions. Not to mention that you knew Loveless. It was such a shame that the two of you had to part at Middangeard. You were the first girl to catch his eye in the longest time. If you had gone here he could have been able to mentor you and perhaps have gotten to know you better.So the Cat''s Out of the Bag"I don't see what I did, to make them BOTH hate me..." Sora mumbled, taking a sip of his fruit juice sadly. Across the table Leon gave him a concerned look. It was weird to see Sora being anything but happy and lately the boy honestly looked like he'd forgotten how to smile. "I'm sure they don't hate you.." UGH. He wasn't good at giving LOVE or FRIENDSHIP advice "Maybe they're just not sure how to act since you and Kairi never officially broke up." Leon suggested, feeling more and more awkward after every second. Sure he found it cute how Sora went to him like he'd go to an older brother, but he wasn't good at any of this stuff! Why couldn't he ask Tidus, Cloud or a GIRL. Yuffie would even make herself helpful for once!
"Hey you were on Earth right?" Leon asked trying to change the subject. "Yea.."
"Did you meet the girl that Zack and Reno won't shut up about?"
"No, but I heard that she had went to Middangeard... I wish I could've met her.." Sora said, sounding more cheerful like his old self. A loud ping went through each student's cellphone. An emergency news broadcast. 'The largest scale heartless attack as of late had been launched on Middangeard. The Council is appalled at the thought of someone attacking triad schools and are launching a full scale investigation. More news will be broadcasted as it is available' The Hacker, Puppy, and the NinjaZack paced back and forth in front of Lumiere's hangers. It was home to plenty of gummi ships and other flight worthy vessels. More importantly the hangers are where the ship carrying the Middangeard heroine will land. Although the event had been less than maybe an hour ago Lumiere already waited for their heroine impatiently. Word spreads fast when you have a hacker intercepting holo-messages."Reno better not have been messing with me..."The skies were completely clear when Zack looked up. He shook his head. How could it have happened so quickly? Why? They'd promised you that you would be safe there, that you wouldn't get hurt anymore, and that your friends would be ok. The look in your eyes as you hugged each of them... Shudders ran up his spine as he thought back to it. It wasn't as if you'd broken into tears, no, what he saw had undoubtedly been trust and genuine appreciation.BANG How could they betray that?! How could this happen after Earth had already been lost, because the Council didn't feel like watching over this new planet... Why did it happen... Just... "Zack where's Reno!" Yuffie took a breath "What happened to your hand?!" "I-we-we promised! We promised that Middangeard would be safe! And then this happens... I just didn't know what we can do for them..." Yuffie raised her hand and brought it to the back of Zack's head with a thump."Don't be such an idiot! They can take care of themselves!"
"You didn't have to slap me." He shot her a look full of indignation. Yuffie stuck her tongue out at him."Guys! While you're bickering the ship got here!" Reno shouted from inside the hangars."You've been here the whole time!?"
"Duh! How else would I have been hacking the flight transmissions?"Yuffie pointed to the sky and shouted "It's coming down guys!"Both boy's eyes snapped up to see the familiar pattern of Cid's gummi ship cutting through the skyline"It's coming down hot!!!" Individual results Noctis:The heartless were there one second, and then they'd turned into swirls of color, and then they just disappeared.... We were about to be outnumbered by them, what the hell just happened? Was that girl responsible for it all? No, that's ridiculous, it had to be Mickey, right?
Prompto:What kind of person am I?! This girl had been drop dead tired AND had taken a straight dose of heartless venom! What was I doing?! Watching the damn lightshow!!! Crap, crap, crap, crap! She was right besides me too! I should've taken care of her! If she isn't ok after all this I'll never forgive myself!

Denzel: Oh my god. You can't tell me that (F/N) isn't gonna be ok! Man this is so not cool! I swear if she isn't ok I'm gonna punch something. We should've been paying attention to her! Not those lights! I mean I got a bit distracted too, but I was hurt! No-no-no stupid Denzel. Cloud and Tifa wanted you to watch over her and what did you do?! Nothing.
Hope: Although everyone else is panicking I'm not worried... Don't get me wrong! It's not like I don't care- I do! But I mean she was really brave... and well someone like that wouldn't die just like that! She's gotta be alright... Doesn't she?
Yuj: I can't believe I didn't notice her standing there besides Prompto... Snow had me and Maqui on lookout for the gummi-ship! It's not like we even noticed though... I mean as soon as the heartless started lighting up I think it wasn't possible to be paying attention to anything else! She is REALLY cute though... I hope we get a chance to talk after all this.
Maqui: I feel so bad, like, me and Yuj were in charge of lookout, we didn't think we'd be useful down there with all the big shot heroes! But if we had been maybe we could've watched out for her, maybe just, UGH. I need to go train some more or something and make myself useful for once!

Noel: I don't know if everyone else noticed, but that girl seemed like she was almost in a trance as soon as the colors started swirling around the heartless. Of course I wasn't looking at her as soon as the colors started spiraling around but it was almost like.. like she did it... It may sound crazy but I think she has a really strong ability... but she's from Earth isn't she? That's impossible...

Author's note: Sorry it took so long! I like to have some of the next part somewhat started before I post! Anyways BOC count, Yuj, and Maqui weren't originally BOC's, does anyone want me to keep them? And also, some people have Cid Raines in as Noctis's brother, do you guys think I should do that??
