Sherlock had planned for this day, many hours went into thinking about this one, special day. Hours of nail biting, hair messing and sly remarks towards John. Sure, he was nervous, how couldn't he be. Today was the day he would take an unsuspecting girl on a unsuspected date.

Well not really no. For the past two hours Sherlock has been buzzing around endlessly, trying to think of something to do with a beautiful, starry-eyed girl he had helplessly fallen in love with. The cogs in his brain sputtered and stalled in exhaustion, and smoke would pour out of his ears and nose if it could. The messy haired brunette growled in anger, for he could not clear his mind or even think of anything to make this girl love him.

It was like a 500 pound anchor had fallen on Holmes. The fact of it being; what if she already had a boyfriend?

A major kink in the road for him, because he couldn't deduce this amazing girl in the first place! Ah yes, the true reason Sherlock was so interested in this girl. She was the equivalent to a enigma wrapped in an enigma, so challenging to figure out for the most brilliant minds yet so easy for the bluntest.

So back to the question, did this girl have a boyfriend already? In order to ask her out he must first know if she is single or not, so he entrusted that to his good mate John Watson.

He had set up the dinner accordingly. John and Mary would invite the subject- Y/N Y/L/N to dinner and they would ask subtle questions to squeeze any information that could hint a boyfriend out of her. Once informed he would either go home and sulk or reveal his disguise to her, then ask her out.

"Brilliant!" Sherlock squealed when John and Mary reluctantly agreed to help him. He jumped to it, planning every move and booking in reservations.

When the time came, Sherlock found himself adjusting his black bow tie entering the fancy pancy restaurant.

He turned to a table and took a menu along with a pair of glasses, acting like a waiter and quickly walked away. He then proceeded to knock a glass of water off the table of a customer and apologize profusely while he mopped up the sopping floor around her bag. While distracting her Sherlock reached in and grabbed some eyeliner and a comb. He walked away again and messily drew a twin moustache on his upper lip then shoved the glasses on to his face. Lastly he combed his hair forward and made it stick down with a bit of spit, then took the menu out from his arm and gave it to the table that John, Mary and Y/N were at.

In order not to tense and freeze up he avoided eye contact with Y/N and used a heavy French accent to mask his normal British one.

"Hello everyone, my name iz Patricke and I will be your waiter for today. May I recommend ze char donee for tonight?" Sherlock chattered and held out a bottle of wine that he stole from another ice bucket. The lot nodded and he poured a shallow amount into the wide rimmed wine glasses.

"Enjoy, I will come back in a bit."

After Sherlock or 'Patricke' left, Y/N's and Mary's convorsation continued. The laughed and smiled as they slowly sipped their wine glasses.

"So have you found a lucky bloke yet?" John asked, butting into the conversation a sly smirk on his face.

Y/N lightly chuckled and had to rethink the question before looking questionably at John and Mary.

"Ah, ok." She stuttered, puzzled by the question. Tucking in a piece of stray hair behind her ear Y/N answered shyly. "Uh no John. I have my eyes set on someone..."

They nod and Y/N excuses herself to the bathroom to freshen up. Sherlock quickly sprints to the table and makes Mary spit out the answer. He fist pumps into the air and lifts his head only to lock eyes with a disappointed Y/N.

She slithered past the other tables and came to her destination, Sherlock Holmes.

"I knew something was going on. You too were in on it too!" Y/N shamed them, dipping an probably expensive cloth napkin in water and harshly wiping sherlocks drawn on moustache like a mother would.

"John, Mary, you didn't really invite me to dinner did you?" She scolded, the only response being a shameful nod from the both of them.

"And you! You're pathetic! You should have just asked me out, of course I would have gone out with you!" She poked sherlocks chest and slipped her coat on.

"Pick me up at 6." Y/N scoffed at the baffled curly haired man. With that she made her way to the door and left the Watsons and Mr.Holmes with their jaws dropped.

Yes, she truly was an enigma.
