ZAID'S POV
The day we played Monopoly I wasn't impressed, but rather intrigued by her. She was so loud and confident when she was with the other girls, but as soon as the boys were present, she seemed to be tongue-tied. Her shyness was somewhat likeable, since it was such a cliché when girls flirted and acted almost vulnerable or the total opposite, when they acted as if they were one of them.

I didn't know her name, and it wasn't as if I even looked at her, that would be breaking my vow to lower my gaze. I could sense how uncomfortable she was by her continued silence and awkward movements. I wasn't embarrassed nor disgusted when our hands brushed, but I knew she would be, so I chose to pull away and pretend I didn't even notice.

I knew Laaiqah, because she was a student at Kensington Prep where I had graduated from 2 years ago. Quite subtly, I had asked her the girl's name.

Husna.

The perfect name for my imaginary younger sister. Everything about her made me want to protect her and help her like a good older brother would.
