[ Sage's POV ]

I looked at my alarm clock sneakily, it read six fifteen am and I still wasn't ready to get up. My eyes shut once again as I attempted to drown out the sounds of my room mate's friends who were chattering loudly. Just as I was about to fall into a light slumber a thin and slender finger jabbed into my somewhat chubby cheek and it continued to do so, I groaned as I heard the person mutter a few words along the lines of, "Is she even alive."

I raised an arm groggily as I slapped away the persons hand brutally before they dared to poke me in my cheek again. I rose from my horizontal postion as my eyes cracked open to look at the three of them with hard stares. "Get out." I say grumpily, I had never been a morning person and chattering loudly and poking my precious cheek pushed it over the line. The two went to protest, but scattered out of the room upon seeing my cold and hard stare. My gaze was soon lifted to stare at my room mate who had an expression of pure satisfaction on her face as she applied her heavily caked make up onto her face.

After a few minutes of silence I convinced myself to get up and get ready, skipping a shower since I had already had one last night. I shoved on my white breeches quickly then searched through my polo tops and deciding that the black one that I had gotten from the school would do. It was black rimmed with white on the collar as were the buttons and there was a logo in blue that had the logo for Canterbury Crest. I quickly applied some simple make up; concelar and mascara before slipping on socks then my riding boots. I rummaged through my draws before finding my helmet and leaving the dorm, cutting in front of my room mate Ashley on purpose.

As I made my way down the stairs my shoulder colidded with someone elses and I dropped my helmet as it rolled down a few steps. I looked up from my 5'2 stature to be greeted by a boy with tan skin, green eyes and jet black hair.  My lips parted as I went to speak, a blush washing over my cheeks out of pure embarassment, "S-sorry." The words were a mere whisper, a slight stutter to them which just piled onto my nervousness even more. The boy allowd a chuckle to slip his plump lips before he went down a few steps, grabbing my helmet. He effortlessly walked back up, handing me the helmet with a smirk, "Be more careful, not everyone here is so nice newbie."

All I could do is simply nod as he walked off. It took me a moment to snap out of the daze I seemed to be in before I started to wlak to the stables at a quicker pace, a goofy smile etching its way onto my face. After a few minutes of walking I finally made it to Cai's stall, He turned to look at me, giving me a cold and hard stare, a certain fire in his eyes was there though. I returned the glare as a smile tugged at the corners of my mouth as I entered the stall, grabbing the blue halter and lead rope that hung on his stall door on a hook.

I entered, shutting the door behind me as I tried slipping the halter over his head but he threw it up and due to my 5'2 stature and his 17hh frame it was quite difficult. I narrowed my eyes as I clicked my fingers, once he had lowered his head I put the halter on before clipping on his lead rope. I had found out from Mr. Lee that he was an ex-racehorse who gave the owners a lot of trouble and used to be beaten. The more I thought about ti the more it made me think about how that could eb the reason why he was so full of spirit and pride, he was a survivor, he wasn't one who had given up and allowed himself to become a dull, lifeless creature.

I slipped him a peppermint secretly as I put him in the tie ups in between Haden and Shea,  skmiling to them both as I started grooming and picking Caitation's hooves with care, "Morning everyone." I spoke, still quite tired. They both murmured a morning to me as they started to tack up.
