So far the lesson was going alright, Cai was acting up a bit but not too much; as for Ashley, she was just plain irritating.
"Hey Shea, Generals got a bit of a limp on his back leg." I say, pulling up next to Shea gingerly, Cai snorting and throwing his head in the air which I simply rolled my eyes to, "Oh? He might have got a rock caught in his hoove or something, I'll check, thanks for telling me Sage." Shea mutters, she seemed distracted but I couldn't pin point why.
I walked around the outside of the arena, glancing back to see Shea checking on General. I'm sure he was fine, but I wasn't too sure about Shea she seemed so out of it, like she had so many thoughts swarming her mind that she couldn't think straight; I decided to question her about it on our trail ride later on, that'd be the perfect time.
I walked over to Haden and Saint, passing a few other people and their horses, everyone had gorgeous horses in this group in all honesty, Ashley had a bay thoroughbred, Jax had a black quarter horse, Saint was a Silver buckskin mustang, everyone's horses were goreous in this group.
"Hey." I say,
"Aye." Hade says, a smile tugging at the corners of his lips, making me quirk a brow.
[ after lesson ; getting ready for a trail ride ]
"How's Lux doing?" Shea asked, looking up as she tightened up Belle's girth. She was excercising Belle for our trainer, who was too busy to ride her.
"She's good, I was thinking of taking her over a few logs on the trail ride, see if she's good with cross country, because of the competition that's coming up, y'know?" There was a competition coming up next weekend on sunday, I had signed up but I wasn't sure if I should take Cai or Lux, or both of them as we were allowed to use different horses for different events.
I finished tightening up Lux's girth, leading her out to stand next to Shea, "So which trail are we taking?" I ask, going voer to Lux's left side and mounting up swiftly.
I watched as Shea did the same, still a little distracted, "I reckon' trail four, that has a few logs and isn't too bumpy, plus the creek is on the trail, we can stop and let the horses have a drink there." I nodded, "Okay, then let's go."
We had been walking along the trail and I had taken Lux over a few logs and she seemed fine with them.
"So, what's wrong with you Shea?" I ask and she snaps her head toward me, eyes narrowing, "What do you mean?" She questions, an angry undertone in her vocals which made my eyes widen. Holy shit, she could be scary.
"What's wrong with you, you're so distracted and out of it." I say, fiddling with my reins softly.
"Nothing."
"It's not nothing."
"Yes it is."
I narrow my eyes, "Tell me right now." I say, giving her a death glare, which makes her eyes widen.
"Fine." a sigh leaves her lips and I continue to stare at her, "My boyfriend, Jordan, he broke up with me but he said he wanted to stay friends," She paused, looking away, "friends, Sage, friends." Ohhh, I see where this was going.
We started to talk about it and She seemed pretty upset about the whole ordeal.
[ at the stables ]
We had gotten back from our ride awhile ago and I was still finishing up, Shea had went to the cafe and I told her I might come later.
I put Lux away in her assigned paddock before walking back and grabbing all my tack, heading to the tack room. I was thinking about calling Jax, seeing if he wanted to go to the cafe or something, but he said he was drowned in homework so I figured I better not.
I opened the door awkwardly to the tackroom, walking in and going over, hanging my bridle up then placing my black saddle on the rack. I turned around, going to walk over to place Lux's leg wraps in my locker, but I was met with a sight that was very awkward and intimate.
"Uhh- erm- hi?" I say, looking at the two who were making out and obviously hadn't realized that I had walked in. I watched as they pulled away, I recognised the girl's face, that was Angie. Angie was one of Ashley's little side kicks, but she was quiet and didn't get involved much. I looked over to the guy, he looked familiar.
"Oh- uh hey, sorry you weren't meant to see that." The guy syas, his voice was husky and sounded hoarse, but I knew that voice, and the hair. Holy shit, he wasn't drowned in just homework he was also drowned in hoework[that was terrible I am so sorry...].
"Jax?" My blood was boiling beneath the surface as I came to the realization that it was him, I mean we weren't together, so why was I jealous? I rolled my eyes, "Wow Jax, wow, Shea was right about you." I say angrily, turning on my heel and storming out of the tack room.
We weren't an offical couple, but we had grown closer so much so that people thought we were a couple; but now I understood why Shea didn't want me going for him.
He didn't bother coming after me even, what a jerk.
I found my way to Shea's dorm, bursting through the door, tears rolling down my cheeks like waterfalls.
"Oh my- What's wrong Sage?!" She syas coming voer to me and embracing me in a tight hug, "J-Jax, he was making out with Angie in the tack room." I sobbed into her shoulder, and she looked at me, "I fucking told you he was bad news you idiot!" She yells and I sob once again, "But even though I warned you that douche is gonna get what's coming for him, Haden and I will kick his ass." She says, storming out of the room to go find Haden.
