[ u n e d i t e d ]

The next day Jax had some of his friends over and they were all drinking beer, Jax's parents didn't seem too mind so I had some too.

"So Jax you still haven't told us your little girlfriend's name?" The brunette smirks, sending a dazzling smile. I roll my eyes, sipping my bear and Jax throws a pillow at him, giving him a warning glare whilst the others laugh. There was Al, the tall brunette who had just asked my name then Jensen, who is slightly shorter than Jax and has blonde hair.

"It's Sage." I smile for my phone rings, buzzing in my Jodphur's belt. Yes, I liked wearing my Jodphurs around the house, they are warm and comfy. "Hold on guys the stable is calling me." I say, my brows furrowing in confusion as I stand up, walking outside.

"Hello is this Sage speaking?" the person on the other end is a female voice I don't recognize but I sigh, replying. "Yes this is."

"Hello Sage your horse Luxury is in critical condition with a broken leg I'm the stable's vet Miss Saunders, I need to to come to the stables as soon as possible." with that I hung up, I could feel the salty tears rolling down my face as I sobbed in silence, I needed to get there and find out what happened.

I bust through the door leaning over Jax who's facial expression soon becomes serious, "what's wrong Sage?" he asks, grabbing my shoulders, completely ignoring his friends. "It's Lux, she broke her leg I need to get to the stables right now." I see Jax's friends leave out the corner of my eye and once they're gone I break into pieces in Jax's arms.

"Okay baby, we're gonna go to Lux right now."

-------

We finally had arrived, and I had seen my precious baby Lux laying in a stall motionless, her eyes following my every movement, they were glassy like my own. Caitation was standing behind me, giving me a certain comfort. He knew how painful this was, how painful it was to watch one of my own horses die slowly, whilst watching me.

I feel so guilty, I feel like I should walk myself down an isle with my head hung low then be thrown off a cliff.

Soon Lux's eye completely glazed over, her legs stopped twitching and her eyes shut softly. No. Nononono. "I take it back! I want my baby back! Please!" I break down in a fit, tears flowing down my face as I hyperventilate. Cai nudges me and I wrap my arm's around his neck, gripping onto his mane as I sob.

I needed to get away, I needed to get away from this place. "Come on Cai." I jump up suddenly bareback on Cai, grabbing his lead rope and kicking his sides, tears blurring my vision as I let him take me wherever I want.

"Sage!" Jax calls out but I block out his voice. luxury. It was all my fault, I knew that I should've never let anyone take care of her. She was such a kind horse. What a stupid person, trying to ride her like that.

Before I knew it I open my eyes to see that Cai had stopped running, he had brought my into a field of lavender that looked out across the wide open pastures filled with other horses. I lean down, hugging him and crying into his neck, "Oh Cai, I love you, please never go." I murmur into his mane and he nickers, arching his neck and nuzzling my hand. I loved this horse, if I were to lose him after losing Lux I don- there I go again, waterworks springing from my eyes as my chest tightens. I couldn't do this anymore. Anything that got close to me always dies or I end up losing them like I do everything in my world.

"Lets go back boy." I squeeze his sides, trying to turn him but he refuses, rearing up and throwing me off. I now lay on my back, looking up to the sky. What are you doing Sage? You're not built for this...
