[ Sage's POV ] [Photos to be added]

"You should be careful over the next few days." Ashley said, turning to face me as we all sat down with our breakfast, "What do you mean?" I ask, taking a bite out of my muselie bar. She simply shrugged and I had a feeling she was going to do something bad to either me, Shea or Haden. I narrowed my eyes, finishing my muselie bar and jumping up to my feet. I shoved the wrapper into our make shift bin; a bin bag before I went into my tent, changing into my black breeches, paddock boots and a white polo shirt. I grabbed my helmet, sitting it on my head as it squished down my natural strawberry blonde locks of hair. 

I headed over to Cai, who was being an ass while I tacked him up. I reached down to grab his girth and jsut as I was about to do it up he brought his head back, biting my arm roughly with a snort. "Ouch!" I say, grabbing my arm as Shea came running over, "You alright?" she asked, looking at Cai with an annoyed expression, "Yeah yeah, I'm fine." I mutter, shooing her away abrupbtly. 

Once I had gotten Cai all tacked up I had a large bruise forming on my inner leg, where he had kicked me when I was checking over his tack and two bites, my arm and shoulder. He wasn't the Cai I had come to know lately. I began to lead him over to the group, Haden giving me a leg up. As I got up into the saddle Cai's nostrils flared, ears pinning back as he shifted, pulling the reins from my grip.

Once I got the reins back I tugged on them lightly making him back up, "What's wrong with you?" I say, before watching the cowboy from earlier start to walk off. I kicked Cai's sides firmly, but he just stood there refusing to walk. He was starting to frustrate me. 

"You coming Sage?" Haden says and I look up to see Haden looking over as well as Jax, then there was Shea sitting glaring at Jax from the other side of Haden. "Yeah, Cai's being stubborn is all." I say, kicking his sides roughly a few times before he started to move. He moved into a slow walk and we caught up with the others. His head hung lower than normal as his walk was less perky. 

We were now turning into the ranch, and the was a thin puddle of water that laid across the enterance. Cai made a halt, standing square in front of the puddle, his nostrils flaring as his eyes darted around. I watched as Shea and Haden's horses went through alright as well as everyone elses and I sighed. "Come on boy." I say, kicking his sides but he still refuses to walk through. 

I feel myself tense up, hands gripping onto the reins tightly before I quickly dismount and sling the reins over his head, gripping onto them. I click my tongue against the roof of my mouth, tugging on the reins lightly as I steps into the water, he takes a few steps forward, ears twitching around. So that was his fear. Water. He begins to follow me through the water, but before I could react his ears had pinned back and he reared up, knocking me to the ground. I felt myself fall, my head bashing against the gravel. I could now feel a sharp pain in the right side of my head and my vision was blurry.

I could see Cai's figure bolt, and I saw a few people go after him but I couldn't make out who. "Sage, Sage!" Someone says, trying to get my attention, they lightly slapped my cheek, and I turned slowly to face them. I could make out the blurry face of the cowboy dude, Ash above me, holding up some fingers, "How many fingers am I holding up?" He asks, a crowd begining to form around me. I squinted my eyes trying to make out the number, "f-fourteen?" I manage to cough out, still catching my breath.

"Okay, okay, someone go to the ranch house just up the road and tell them to bring down the truck!" I could no longer see, or move, But I could still hear everything, I just couldn't physically bring myself to open my eyes, or move, I was in so much pain on the inside though. I could hear Haden, Jax and Shea all freaking out as I was loaded into the ambulance.

The last thing I heard was "Sage, come on, stay with us." it sounded like the voice of Jax, but I couldn't quite tell.

[  two days later ]

I could feel my eyes peel open to reveal my hazel and blue gaze to everyone in the room, I could hear the beeping of the machines being drowned out by my thoughts, Was he okay? Did they get him back? Did he hurt himself? I felt my body jolt up from my laying position, looking down at the needle that was stuck in my arm I slowly eased it out from beneath my skin.

Shea and Haden rushed over, and I could see Jax and someone else sleeping in the corner in awkward positions. I looked to Shea and Haden with hard stares, "Where is he." I say firmly, my arms supporting my weight as I got myself out of the hospital bed, forgetting that the back had no material and all I had on was my blue lace underwear and my black bra. Haden went to push me back onto the bed and I narrowed my eyes, grabbing his and and twisting it in one fast motion. 

"Don't you dare touch me Haden, I want to see him now." I say, Shea prying my hand off of Hadens wrist and giving me a soft look, "Calm down Sage, you'll see him soon." 

"I want to see him now." I growl, before I hear a high pitched squeal from behind me, "I-I I'm sorry, I didn't mean to look!" I turn to see Jax's friend awake and hiding hsi face with his jacket shyly. When I look to see Jax all I could see wa shim staring. Then it hit me, I was only in my bra and under wear. I walk over to him, grabbing his shirt, "Stop staring at my ass." I say, shoving him back into the chair as I grab a pair of sweatpants that were on my side table, shoving them on along with a baggy t-shirt.

"Ugh, Sage, Wait!" Shea says, trying to grip onto my arm but I pry her off. Before I could start to walk again Mr. Lee stormed through the doors looking at us, we all froze on the spot in fear. "What on earth is going on here!" His voice booms through the private hospital room as he looks at everyone. "I want to see Caitation, right now, I demand to know if he is alright." I say, my small hands laying on my hips as an infuriated look spreads across my face.

"He's fine, tota-" I cut Mr. Lee off with a cold glare, tapping my foot impaitently before he gulps, "I'll just take you to uh- see him, I'll check you out just hold on." He says, walking out from the room, a hint of fear being placed in his eyes from my somewhat fiery attitude which only seemed to be expressed when I was overly pissed or not in the mood.

Next chapter she and Cai will be resolving their problems together and Sage will attempt to earn Cai's trust and respect via helping him recover from injuries.
