A croaky groan left my dry and plump lips as the piercing howl of my alarm clock rang through my room that I was sharing with Ashley. She had been getting easier to tolerate lately, but she still gave me a migraine.
"Can you shut that thing up!" she yelled, her vocals cracking. I reached over to hit the button to turn off my alarm, but before I could a large, white fluffy pillow collided with my body, sending me off balance as I tumble of my bed with a loud thud. There was a pain in my hip from the fall off my bed but I quickly turned off my alarm, my hands resting on my bed as I look over to Ashley.
I looked in the mirror at myself, I was a bloody mess. My strawberry blonde locks that were normally perfect were matted and messy, my face looked tired and done with everything. I sighed, "Come on Ashley, we've got a riding lesson to help out in." I say groggily.
I stand up, grabbing the pillow she had thrown at me and sauntering over, whacking her over the head with it then going to do my daily routine.
"I hate you!" she screams at the top of her lungs.
"The feelings mutual," I murmur, closing the door to the bathroom only to hear Ashley retort with an 'I heard that'.

Ashley currently stood across from me in the arena alongside Shane, Shea and Jax as well as Miss Barbs who was an elderly lady who asked us to help teach her class.
I watched as the four in our current lesson went around at a canter, but they all seemed to have trouble sitting in the saddle and they were tense. I sigh, moving to the middle of the arena and signalling for them to come to the middle, "Guys, remember to keep calm and loose, your horses feed off of your emotion and energy, if you're nervous they will be too," They all nod, "And try to sit deeper in the saddle in your canter."
"Sorry." one of the younger girls, Emily murmured. She brushed her brunette locks from hiding her face and I smile softly, "It's okay, try again I'm sure you guys will get it."
I signal head to the other side of the arena where our group stood, "Your turn Shea." Miss Barbs says, giving her a light shove into the arena.
I was still tired and I was surprised I was still functioning. I always hated Thursdays, I always seemed to be extra tired.
"Ashley, Shane and Sage, go tack up I need you to demonstrate for me," Miss barbs says before turning to Jax and asking him to set the jumps to 0.85 which wasn't too bad.
"Lets go." Ashley says and the three of us rush to the stables, going to our horses stalls and getting them out, tacking them up as quick as possible.
I quickly mounted up on Lux, I'd rather not use Cai around horses he didn't know that well yet. I watch as Ashley mounts up on her horse, Angel, then Shane mounting up on his Andy.
All of us walk to the arena to see Shea instructing the riders in the arena.
"She's gonna be an instructor when she's older, I swear, she's really good at it." I say and Ashley glances at me, scoffing.
"I agree." Shane says, rolling his eyes when Ashley scoffs, walking off and we warm up.
"Shane, can you demonstrate how not to jump?" Miss Barbs asks, knowing he can jump fine and Shane shrugs entering the arena. He approaches the jump at a slightly too fast canter, taking off slightly early and looking down when he jumps. He knocks over the rail of the 0.85 vertical before walking around and standing next to the jump, "Thank you." Miss Barbs says.
I knew what she was doing she was showing the large difference between a good and a bad jump.
"Sage." She signaled and I entered the arena, cantering toward the arena, counting Lux's strides in my head as we approach the jump. I move into my two point and we take off, my eyes focusing straight ahead, my heels digging down and my hands staying low. We land on the otherside of the jump flawlessly, and I bring Lux down to a walk halting her next to Shane, "Thank you Sage, that was a perfect example of a well versed jump," She says before turning to the group, "What were the major differences in how Shane and Sage approached the jumps?" she asked, pacing in front of the group.
Emily raises her hand and Miss Barbs points to her, "Shane approached at a much faster pace than Sage." she points out and Barbs points out the other students and they all pointed out a difference.
"Good job." I say to them and they all smile sheepishly, "Ashley can you take Jonathan over here into the indoor arena and help him sit his canter?" she asks and Ashley sighs, heading to the indoor arena.

Once we all finished the lesson and untacked our horses we decided to go to the cafe and grab a smoothie each.
"Banana berry smoothie please." I could feel myself practically drooling, I loved this cafe's Banana Berry smoothies they were delicious.
"That'll be six dollars and seventy cents." the girl behind the counter smiles and I hand her the change I had laying in the pocket of my jacket, deciding not to use my student payments card.
When the girl finished my smoothie and handed it to me I thanked her, heading to the large booth in the back corner of the cafe and squishing onto the seat, joining in on the conversation.
"Guess what Sage?" Shane says with a beaming smile, "What?" I question excitedly, "We just got an email saying that Canterbury Crest got into the international competition and guess where we get to go?" he says and I raise a brow signalling for him to go on.
"Australia!" Shea yells at the top of her lungs and I look over to her, gobsmacked, Australia? "Holy cow!" I say a toothy smile stretching across my face.
Jax and Ashley were both smiling brightly, we all brought our smoothies to the middle, the glass clashing together, "To Australia!" Jax says and we all laugh, taking a drink of our smoothies.
I loved this group of people too much.
