"Thanks for helping me with Cai and Lux," I say to Shea, finishing my braid on Cai's tail.

"No problem, I needed to take my mind off of all the shit that's been happening." She says and I shrug. I agree, this show would take a lot off of our minds especially considering how competitive Shea and I could get.

"ten minutes until loading!" A voice yelled down the stables, I looked at my phone for the time. It was 12:51 am, so by the time we headed off we should end up arriving at the show grounds at 11 am. I slipped canterood's blanket over Cai's body and he fidgeted, I realized he wasn't too fond of rugs but he could deal with it.

The blanket was a a mix of red, white and blue, and the school's logo was printed by the neck. I grabbed Cai's blue float boots, bending down to put them on.

"What events are you gonna compete in?" I asked Shea, she was slipping on Lux's rug and she shrugged, clipping it up, "I signed up for Show jumping, the hack and cross country."

I quirked a brow, "You didn't sign up for the bareback ride?" I comment, surprised that she hadn't.

"Nah, I don't think General's up for it, I might even pull out of cross country because his legs still a bit funny, but the vet said I could still ride him," She paused, looking around with a sigh, "I'm taking buttercup just in case."

I stood up shaking me head with a laugh, "Buttercup?" Buttercup was the most stubborn horse in the stables, apart from Cai that is, You could barely get her to walk without her wanting to buck you off. 

"Good luck." I scoff.

Before I knew it I felt a hand whack across the back of my head, "Bitch." I murmur beneath my breath, so its almost inaudible, "That's meeee." Shea chimes back with glee, a hint of joy being evident in her voice.

I loved her, seriously, but she really pissed me off at times; but then again, I was asking for it.

"Fine, I'm sorry." I smiled sweetly before unclipping Cai from the cross ties as Shea did the same with Lux, passing her lead rope to me, "Thanks Shea, now grab General and Buttercup." I smirked, I had helped her get them ready earlier and they were sitting at the tie ups next to us. 

She simply scoffed before leaving only to come back with her two horses.

"Just go." She huffed, clearly not happy with having Buttercup as her back up.

A devious chuckle slips through my lips before a click my tongue on the roof of my mouth, leading Cai and Lux  toward the larger float, there was one luxury trailer. There were six of us going, all hand picked by Mr. Lee, we were known as the varsity squad, Shea and I were both on it, Haden was our Varsity sub.

This school was loaded, I couldn't even comprehend how rich and fancy this school was.

Once we got there we waited in line, I looked in the trailer, it was heated and air conditioned, and had padding on the walls as well as massive bags of hay, "The horses will stop every 3 hours just like us for a stretch of their legs and water, we should arrive at the grounds at 10 - 11 am, then you will rpoceed in signing in and getting ready for your first events whenever they may be."

Once Cai and Lux were loaded I fed them a few treats for being good and gave them both a hug before exiting the trailer.
