Not what it seems

Chapter 3

Hi my lovelies so this is the third chapter and I hope you like it! I decided to update again, updates will hopefully remain quick but They won't be daily. Please leave any questions, suggestions or comments, I will always answer and if there's one I really like I will dedicate the next chapter to that person. *Lacey's POV*

I was anxious at the thought of meeting my hopefully soon to be manager. I have a manager, me a good for nothing no one. I couldn't believe this had happened, I was beyond happy. I didn't really think much about the mission that Mark had set for me.

I was used to those types of things and it was nothing out of the ordinary. He had already given me all the information concerning the band, the threats and suspects and he has left it up to me to solve or deal with. He also said that if at any time I required help then it is always offered by himself and the people that know

That made me feel at ease with it. He was so kind and it was weird for me to have any help with this sort of mission. I just wanted to get this done as soon as possible so I can focus in music. No distractions needed. But I guess nothing goes as planned

We pulled up to what looked like an expensive building. I turn to Mark shaking slightly 'is this the studio?'

'Yes dear, now don't be nervous you will be fine okay. Joe is lovely. He will love you especially because you protecting his boys'

'Okay okay, I can do this' I take a deep breath and step out of the car quickly walking inside with Mark.

He leads me through the building and in the lift. I can see people looking at me weirdly and with some level of disgust. I look down at myself and figure that my outfit isn't something they would find classy enough for this building. For the first time in a while I felt insecure. I didn't really get chance to change from the airport. ( outfit below without the hat)

'Ignore them dear. Give it a week and they will be your best friends. It's just because they don't know you' Mark reassures me but I'm not all that sure

We reach the 13th floor and both walk out, I take my time to take in everything around. I'm in complete awe of the place. I continue to follow Mark into this office looking room where a man is sat waiting. As we walk in he quickly stands and holds his hand out to shake

'Hi I'm joe, you must be Lacey'

'Yeah I'm Lacey, nice to meet you' we both smile before he looks at Mark and they greet each other

'Lacey has an amazing voice and writes her own music. I am going to instruct that you be her manager and she will be the opening act for the vamps. She is also the solution to out little threat problem'  Joe looks taken back and confused as he looks at me and back to Mark

'Wait- what?! If she wants to be the opening act the boys will have to hear her sing. We can hear her at the same time and we can both decide if I can manage her and if the boys want her. And how exactly will she solve the problem she's tiny' I listen to him speak and I begin to feel offended and annoyed at his tone

'Fine you hear her sing and you will love her. And she's the number one assassin in the country. So be respectful' joe gapes at me and I simply shrug as I look around. I soon hear some movement and I quickly turn grab ahold of joes arm and twist it behind his back as I hold the pocket knife I have to his throat

He gasps 'I may be small but I'm quick, smart and good at what I do.'

I let him go quickly and I see Mark stood looking proud while joe rubs his arm and nods while he manages a smile.

'Yeah that is completely understood now. Let me get the boys here and you can sing for us'

He quickly calls and speaks for a minute before he sits back down . I feel nervous , my hands are shaking and I think I may faint.

The door opens and four lads quickly walk in laughing and joking around but it soon stops at they see myself and Mark

The tall blonde speaks first 'what's going on? And who's this?'

'We are looking at her to be your opening act and for myself to manage. Thought we could hear her sing and decide.'

I decide to stand and face them to introduce myself 'I'm Lacey, it's a pleasure to meet you all'

They all smile and nod but my attention goes to the one closest. Brown curls and brown eyes. Beautiful smile and gorgeous face. He smiles wider as we make eye contact before they shuffle him over to sit down

'What are you going to sing?'

'Er I will sing an original if that's alright?'

'Of course, have you got a two songs you can sing?'

'Yeah I do'

'Well good luck' I look at Mark and he nods for me to begin

I quickly set my phone up to play the backing music and vocals for my second song.  'Whats that?' I hear a voice and when I look up i see it came from brown eyes

'Oh it just has my backing vocals on it because there's a bit that overlaps at the end. That okay?'

'Yeah of course' I nod and soon begin to sing

As I finish the last note I look at them all. They seem to be smiling and I hope that means good news.

I see them begin to talk to one another excitedly and brown eyes lean back in his chair . I watch carefully as I see a screw lose and it appears that it will tip if to much weight is put in one place.

As I went to speak it had already snapped and he was soon to fall. I'm thankful that I'm quick because before he hit the ground I had slid over the table and caught him in my arms.

He blinks shocked and looks at me. I look back down 'I should probably know the name of the guy that's just fallen into my arms, right?'

He chuckles and I help him stand 'I' m Bradley and er thanks for that. Never seen anyone move so fast'

'Ah I have very fast reflexes, anyway you okay?'

'Yeah I see that and I'm fine thank you'

I look around the room and the others are staring for a while before joe speaks 'so it's been decided. I will manage you and you will be the opening act for the vamps. You voice is incredible. Congratulations Lacey'

I guess the fun and mission starts now.
