ANTI DELENA

So I've been on Tumblr and saw this:

"compulsively hate ships that happen out of nowhere, in first episodes, without buildup, ships in which "I love you", "always" are said after five convarsations, girls who are all melodramatic over guy whom they know for a month, guys who choose girl whom they know for two weeks over family/friends/everybody."

it had the hashtag #Antistelena. It was posted by a delena shipper.

I mean just read this

girls who are all melodramatic over guy whom they know for a month

"I'm mad at you because I love you"- 3x14

"I can't lose you"- 2x20

"I can't be selfish with you"- 2x08

"I have to let you go"- 3x22

All of these were BEFORE delena was in a relationship. But y'know, Stelena is the melodramatic one

Stefan: I look hot in your great grandfathers jacket?
Elena: very hot (2x14)

Stefan: I know. We have history together
Elena: and English, and French (1x01)

Elena: sorry, so not sexy
Stefan: I disagree (1x05)

OH DEAR GOD THE MELODRAMA CAN YOU NOT SEE IT WHAT A HORRIBLE MELODRAMATIC COUPLE STELENA IS NEVER HAVING FLUFFY CUTE MOMENTS

Now, this is not to say that stelena don't have their melodramatic moments and delena don't have their light moments.

BUT STELENA IS NOT JUST MELODRAMA. ITS FUN TOO AND SEXY AND FLUFFY AND TRAGIC BUT ALSO THE WAY THEY TEASE EACH OTHER. DELENA WOULD JUST GET OFFENDED.

But I shall move on

But...but. Stefan...had...no one.

Okay, hypothetically, let me give you some choices

1. Damon. In the first season, Damon tried to make his eternal life hell
Damon: I'm going to make your life an eternal misery.

But who saved him from being burned alive?

Not Stefan, what a terrible brother.

2. Lexi. Okay, to be fair, Stefan was never in a situation where he would have to choose Elena over Lexi, but still.

3. Caroline. Definitely not in the earlier seasons, but in the later ones? Probably. 

I digress

MY POINT IS that Stefan would choose Lexi, Damon and Caroline over Elena if the time came to it. Especially in season six. Just like Damon would choose Bonnie over Elena.

"Stelena? Build up? Where?"

Yes, they got together in episode two but this was after a lot of hemming and hawing. TWO EPISODES LATER they broke up and then got back together again and then broke up. It took ages for them to reconnect after that. Stelena has history together. Delena, on the other hand, did not have any build up in going from friends to bed buddies.

But let me just draw some comparisons

Stefan saved Elena's family - Damon killed Elena's family
Stefan let Elena choose whether she became a vampire or not- Damon shoved his blood down Elena's throat because he, not her boyfriend, or her close friends, couldn't live without her
Stefan never actively flirted or went after Elena once she chose his brother- Damon very actively flirted and tried to kiss Elena in several occasions while she was with Stefan. Most of these kissing attempts were unwelcome by Elena
Stefan tried to protect Elena's friends- Damon looked at Elena's friends and saw a bone to chew on
Stelena is light- delena is dark

Oh, and I'd like to very maturely respond to a steroline post that said "there's a reason stelenas first kiss was in darkness and sterolines was in light"

WELL THAT REASON IS CALLED OOC WRITING. And if we're going on those lines, I'm going to say some things
There's a reason Caroline forced Stefan to turn it off and a reason Elena was told by Stefan to bring him back
There's a reason stelenas first time was making love and sterolines first time was up against a vending machine
There's a reason Elena wanted a life with Stefan and he wanted it with her, not Caroline

Shall I go on?
Anyway, I think I should stop there.

My point? Stelena is life.
