Beep beep beep

She's not responding to anything

Beep beep beep

I would only give her until Christmas

Beep beep beep

Mel? It's Gwen...we're all here...can you hear me?

Beep beep beep

Please wake up

The never ending darkness surrounded me as I continued to fight it. I heard everything my friends and others were saying. I felt everything, but no matter how hard I tried, how hard I screamed...I couldn't let them know that. This time it was bad, very bad. I had been living in a fantasy these past few months with norman. I should've known the worst was coming. It was an inevitable end. I didn't know how long I'd been unconscious, but It felt like an eternity. Every time I would hear norman, my heart broke. He sounded defeated, vulnerable and I knew it was all because of me. He begged me to wake up and I tried, I really did but for some reason I couldn't. Today I wasn't going to give up though...I tried with all my strength to move my hands. A tingling sensation suddenly started to swarm my body and I was able to move my eyes back and forth under my eye lids. Then finally I found myself gaining control of my body again and fluttering my eyes open. The bright light hurt my eyes as I blinked a few times adjusting them. Looking around the grey room I noticed I was in the hospital. The beeping noise I was hearing was a heart monitor. They had me on oxygen and even an IV. I didn't know what time it was, but I could see out the window it was dark. Looking to my left a huge smile spread across my face as I saw norman sitting in a chair, leaning on my bedside asleep. A warm feeling flew over me knowing he was there, but as I brought up my left hand to run it through his hair something stopped me. There on my left finger was a ring. My eyes widened and I gasped as I brought my hand closer to my face to study it. It was absolutely gorgeous and I felt tears brim my eyes when I noticed what finger it was on. I started to shake as I looked back to him and lightly poked him,

"Norman....norm..."

He groaned and lifted his head up. I noticed the bags of exhaustion under his eyes and wondered exactly how much sleep he must've had. He blinked a few times and rubbed his eyes to get the tiredness out, but when he looked at me and saw me away he froze. His eyes widened as I smiled,

"Hey"

"Holy shit" he gasped and quickly stood up pulling me I to his embrace whispering, "thank you...thank you."

He pulled away and I noticed the tears now in his eyes as he whimpered,"I thought I lost you."

I placed my hand gently on his cheek and smiled,"I'm still here"

His lip quivered as tears slipped down his cheek and he pulled me in for a soft, passionate kiss. I missed the taste of his lips and seeing the urgency he had behind this one, so did he. As he pulled away, he held onto my hand as I asked,

"How long have I been here?"

"Just a few days." He said.

"Who's all been here?" I asked.

"Gwen, Andy, and Ming" he said.

My heart dropped,"Andy and Mingus?"

He nodded, "yea."

"So they know?" I asked.

"Yea they do..." He sighed.

"How's Mingus?" I asked.

"He's alright" he whispered.

I swallowed the lump in my throat. I was dreading Mingus finding out, but I was hoping I would be the one to tell him and for him not to find out the way that he did. I nodded and noticed him playing with the ring on my finger.

"Norm?" I asked.

He looked up at me with his gorgeous blue eyes,"yea?"

"You got me a ring?" I said.

"I did" he nodded.

"Why?" I asked.

"I think you know why" he whispered.

"Look I heard what the doctors said. I heard what everyone said. I don't have much longer norm and I don't want you feeling like...." I started to say but he cut me off,

"I didn't do it because of that melody. I love you, I want you to be mine, and I want to spend every awaking moment we have left together."

"We do that now" I chuckled.

"Not what I mean. I want you mine in a different way. I want you to walk around with my last name, I want to be able to call you my wife." He said seriously.

Tears filled my eyes as I began to shake,"are you sure?"

"I'm positive" he said sternly.

Tears slipped down my cheeks,"I don't know what to say.."

"Say yes. Marry me melody" he said squeezing my hand.

I started to cry harder so I just nodded. A huge smile spread across his face as he pulled me in for another kiss, but this one was rougher, more needy. Only when someone cleared their throat did we pull away. Looking over, Dr. Roberts was standing at the foot of my bed with a huge smile on his face,

"Well good morning sleeping beauty"
