I wake up, and can't quite remember what's happened.

My head's ringing, and my throat is locked with breath.

I frown, and try to look around, the shadows creep around me.

Another nightmare.

The girl tosses and turns, and is soon staring into my shadowy eyes.

"...You too?" She asks.

I nod, silently, my voice is locked behind my fear.

"What was it about?" She says softly, "It's.. it helps to talk about it sometimes."

"I can't remember." I lie.

"... I- I think you should watch your back, Bones. I.. when.. I was... locked up with the people... they um.. said something you should hear."

"hmm."

"...I heard one of them say... 'If she's useless to us, maybe we should just go for the source.'.. What.. do you think they mean?"

"It's probably nothing." I mutter, softly.

She shrugs, and grabs my hand, cold and solemn.

"Did I wake you up?" She asks, softly.

"Nah. You're okay."

"...Sorry."

"Don't apologize you didn't do anything wrong." I trace my thumb on the side of her head, "It's okay."

She sighs.

"Alright."

She seems nervous to fall back asleep.

"It's okay, I... promise, I won't let anyone hurt you. Not when I'm around, sweetheart. " 

....I'm afraid to make promises.
