Twin Trouble (Part 1)

You were 2 weeks away from graduating high school and you couldn't wait to share it with your best friend, Niall and your twin sister, Y/S/N. You'd known Niall since you were little and he'd always been there for you. 

Y/S/N was also friends with Niall, but not like you. Sure, she hung out with him if he came around to your house and she'd say 'hi' if she passed him in the corridor, but other than that, they didn't really talk. 

He was your best friend and you were his.

A few years back, you developed a small crush on him, increasing over the years. 

That's right, you had a crush on your best friend.

He wasn't like anyone else though, he treated you so respectfully and always went out of his way to do things for you, almost as if you were a couple. He'd arrive at school after you most days, but once he saw you, he'd run up to you, giving you a big hug and kiss on the cheek.

Over the recent weeks, you saw a change in Niall though. When you got home, he'd be at your house some days and other days, he would ask you if he could go to your place. You couldn't understand his behaviour but you figured maybe something was going on back home.

The school week had finished and you were ready to finally go home and take a nap. As soon as you walked through the door, you saw Niall sitting in your living room, talking with Y/S/N. She was already home because her classes finished earlier. 

"Hey Ni, Hey Y/S/N." You say, greeting them politely before jumping onto the couch next to Niall.

Your sister waved to you, Niall speaking. "Hey Y/N" He says, half-smiling. That's strange, he never calls you by your full name, it was always your nickname. 

You decided to let it go, getting up and walking up stairs to change into more comfortable clothes. You sat down on your bed, before messaging Niall to come into your room because you were too lazy to get back up. 

Not even a minute later, you heard a knock on your door, Niall coming through after. Now you could finally confront him about his behaviour in private.

He walks up to your bed, sitting next to you before you start talking. "Hey Ni, what's up? why are you here? Not that I don't want you to be, but why?" You ask.

"Um, I just thought I'd come see you." He says. He wasn't very convincing though.

"Ni, what's really wrong? I know that's not the reason. Please tell me, you know you can tell me anything." You say.

"Umm, I just came to talk to Y/S/N and to tell you t-that Y/S/N and I a-are d-dating now." He says. 

Your heart shattered. 

What a way to break a girl's heart.

You didn't even know how to react to this.

Here you were, lead on by some immature boy. You never thought those words would ever come out of his mouth but now that they had, your heart was shattered.

You sat there for a minute, before speaking up. "Are you kidding me, Niall?" You say, frustrated.

"What do you mean?" He asked, clearly confused. What a dick.

"You've got to be joking. Get out, now." You say before he gets up and leaves.
