Break Up & Make Up

Niall had been a little distant lately and you didn't know what was up but you were determined to find out. He'd barely touched you, barely spoken to you, barely called and barely texted you.

For some reason, the first thought that popped into your head was he was cheating? But was he?

You couldn't do this alone so you called Harry and asked him if he knew what was up when Niall was out for lunch with some 'mates'.

"Y/N! How are you?"Harry was always so nice to you.

"Hey Haz, I'm good and you?"

"I'm good thanks. Do you need something?"He asks.

"Um, well, y-yeah. Niall's been a little distant and I don't know what's up but I have this weird feeling that he's cheating on me..Do you think you could help me?" You say.

"Of course babe. How long has he been like this?"

"Um, probably like 3 weeks?" You say.

"Alright, well is he home right now?"

"Nope." You reply.

"Alright, I'm coming over. We'll figure this out, don't stress babe. It's all going to be okay." He reassures you.

"Thanks Harry. Love you, see you soon."

"Bye love." You hang up and wait for his arrival.

You had to get to the bottom of this and you couldn't do it alone.

Harry arrives and immediately wraps his arms around you when he sees you.

"What's up babe?" He says, letting go of his grip on you.

"I'm not sure. He's been out a lot and he said he's going out for lunch with his mates today, but he's been distant and he doesn't even cuddle with me anymore. I'm scared Harry." You say as he brings you into another hug.

"You'll be okay, alright babe? We'll get to the bottom of this and if we find out he is, you'll come and stay with me. I'm always here for you though, alright?" You nod.

"Where should we start?" He asks.

"Well I was thinking about driving around the area and stopping by a couple of restaurants because knowing him, he's gone to one of the most obvious restaurants."


"Start at Nandos?" You nod and are immediately on your way to find Niall.

You stop at Nando's and look through the carpark, immediately spotting Niall's black range rover.

Typical Niall, stopping at the most obvious place.

You and Harry walk in, searching the place for Niall. You spot him in the corner and it shocks you who is sitting across from him; it's his ex, Amy Green.

You immediately burst into tears knowing that Niall really was cheating on you. You knew it was coming but you didn't expect it to hit you this hard when you saw it. He still meant the world to you and you still loved him with all of you.

But all good things come to an end, right?

Harry took you into a hug and you decided to go back home and pack your stuff.

You'd finished packing your things now and loading them into both yours and Harry's cars. You also decided to text Niall, letting him know you were done. So that's what you did as soon as you got to Harry's.

'Hey Niall, I really enjoyed the 3 years I had with you and I'll cherish the memories forever but I know you've moved on and I'm glad you're happy. I never thought seeing you with your ex would hurt this much but I was obviously wrong. I was obviously wrong about you too because I never thought you would do this, but I guess we're over now. I've always loved you and I'll love you forever more. Thank you so much for all the good times we shared and I hope you have a nice life. Yours sincerely, the broken hearted girl, Y/N xx.'

It was a long message but you had to make it clear you were done and thank him for the good memories you two did share.

He replied not even 2 minutes later. 'What do you mean? :('

'I saw you with Amy, Niall. You don't have to deny it, we're done and you're happy. I hope you have a nice life and I can't go on like this anymore feeling so unloved so that's why I've packed my things and I'm getting out of your life. I also have to block your number because it hurts too much to keep it. I'll love you forever, xx.'

You blocked his number and sat on Harry's couch, still crying your heart out.

-3 days later-

You woke up in Harry's guest bed to hear some people talking. You recognised their voices to be Harry's and Niall's. You didn't want to speak to him, because he'd probably only break you further.

Harry had been a huge help during the past few days when you hit rock bottom and he's slowly cheering you up.

Harry knocked on your door 5 minutes later, still dressed in his pajamas.

"Love, Niall's here to see you." He says softly, sitting beside you.

"I don't want to see him." You reply.

"Y/N, he made a mistake but I promise it wasn't what we thought it was. Please, just hear him out." He says.

"Fine." You say, throwing your legs over the bed and walking downstairs, immediately noticing Niall.

He wasn't the Niall you knew though, his hair was a mess as if he'd run his hands through it so much and his eyes were red and puffy. He looked like a mess.

"Y/N, I'm so sorry." He says, running over to you and hugging you. "I've been a mess without you and I promise it wasn't what it looked like. I swear Y/N, just hear me out, please." He says, desperately.

"You have 5 minutes and 5 minutes only."

"Well, first off I want to apologise. You know I've remained friends with Amy and we've been together for 3 years now, I thought it was time to take the next step with you. I was only out with Amy because I went ring shopping and I needed a girl's advice. And I'm sorry for being so distant, I had been planning this for a while and if I spoke to you often, I knew it would slip. Please forgive me baby, I can't live this life without you." He says, tears forming in his eyes.

"Are you being serious?" You say, wanting to make sure.

"100% baby, I'd never cheat on you. I love you so much, please forgive me. I'm sorry." He says.

"Alright."

He runs up to you and hugs you so tight, giving you a kiss on the lips.

He lets go and goes down on one knee. Tears start streaming down your face as you look at him.

He pulls out a box and starts speaking again. "Y/N Y/L/N, I love you so much and these past 3 years have been the best of my life. I'm so sorry about what happened again but I love you so much and I hope you still feel the same. You are my world and you make me want to be a better person. I love you Y/N, will you marry me?"

You jump into his arms, nodding your head so fast.

"Of course Ni. I love you so much." You say, pulling him in for a passionate kiss.

You hear clapping in the background and realise that Harry is still there. You blush furiously and Niall flips him off.

"Congratulations guys, you're perfect for each other." Harry says.
