° Chapter 26 °

(Still that night)

We gathered around the table. We are taking notes and Seth and I are ready to illustrate something for the plan, if it will be needed.

"So, our main plan is to create a new clique?" I asked

"Yes. But for that clique to become official, we still have a lot to do." He said

"firstly, we have the beginning chapter. The one that we need to get all the information we need before the next big chapter." Mike said.

"What are the steps for that 'beginning chapter' that we have to do?" Pam asked

Mike stood up and told me to take the marker pen and start writing what he says to me, on the writing board.

First step: setting the assignments

He said and I wrote it. Before he continued, I had to make the joke.

"I didn't know that you know what that word means." I said and everyone chuckled.

"I'm not stoned all the time, Anna." He shook his head, smiling at me.

"So, the assignments?" Pam asked

"We have to be organised so we know from the start what we should do." Mike said

"..yeah, but what can we do? We have a popular one, 2 cheerladers, a footballer, 2 stoners, a goth and a hipster." I say

"Yes, but it can be useful. The popularity, attention, art, position in our school, everything." Mike said

"I mean, Annabelle and I can draw illustrations of plans that we need, or stuff like that. Just like we said." Seth mentioned and I nodded.

"I'll write it down." Pam said and wrote it on the piece of paper.

"Yeah, see?" Mike said.

"Taylor, you are popular. you can know the rumors that are going around school, or student incidents, yeah?" Mike asked.

"Yes. I'm one of the first ones to know about all of that." Taylor chuckled.

"Great." Mike said and Pam started writing it down.

"The three of you are also popular so can you do something like that too?" Mike asked Simon, Pam and Carrie.

"Yeah, I mean we can know the time and place of every party, find out about sport events and things like that." Simon said

"That's just what we need." Mike said and Pam wrote it down.

"I'm the leader of my clique. Maybe I can help it on our clique meetings." Michael said, talking about his hipster group. I raised my eyebrows.

"Really? I didn't know that." I said and everyone looked surprised as well.

"Yeah. It's good for this situation, though." He said. Pam kept writing.

"Okay we figured out that part, now I only don't know what I'll do." Mike said

"I suggest you should be the leader of this plan, clique. I mean, you seem to be very organised and seem to know a lot about this plan." Carrie and Michael said

"Yeah. That would be great." We all agreed.

"Okay. I can do that." Mike said and we giggled.

After a few seconds, Pam stood up and started reading out the positions / assignments.

Clique leader: Mike

Informations about students: Taylor

The illustrators: Seth & Annabelle

Infomation about school events/ parties: Carrie, Simon & Pam

Main source of clique information: Michael

After she read it out, Mike spoke.

"Does everyone agree with this assignments?" Mike asked us

We all nodded and he continued.

Second step: collecting the information

He said and I wrote it down on the board. I caught Simon staring at me, when I finished writing it as nicely as possible. I smiled at him and turned around, to Mike and the others.

"So, for the next step you need to be sneaky, I guess. If you find about anything that you think may be useful for us in the following weeks, tell us here." He said and we nodded.

"And the last step is.." Mike said and turned towards me.

Third step: acting like everything's normal

I wrote down what he said and turned around to him, again.

"This is the most important step. From now on, we act like everything's okay. We won't bring attention to us, and I think the best for us would be is we only talk around here, or after school, or over a phone." Mike said

"So, continue interacting like we usually do." I said

"Yes. Until we figure everything out and pass onto the next chapter." Mike said and we agreed.

"Can I suggest one thing?" Taylor asked. Mike nodded and she started talking.

"I think it would be a good idea if you one of you would draw the clique benches in this school. You know, the cliques different places in front of the school." She said to me and Seth.

"I can do that." I said and looked to Seth

"Yeah, sure." Seth agreed.

"I'll start tonight." I said and looked to Simon, letting him know we can talk later, when I start drawing the map.

He gave me a small nod and looked away.

We all spent talking about something random for about half an hour.
