What were we Fighting For?

I threw my first first blindly
Just short of your damn head.
I hit your neck, you choked
I smiled at the advantage I had
You stumbled and spat
The red hitting the floor,
Instead appearing in your eyes
As you came back and kicked,
Me, hard as possible
Knocking the air from my lungs.
As I keeled over you took your chance and swung,
For my temple, you hit dead on.
Not knocking me out but starting a jerk,
Where my body seized and spasmed.
You screamed for help, your anger faded.
Picking me up as your own.
I kicked out seeing nothing, yet mine eyes
Hurt all the more. You cried tears splashed,
Onto my skin that grew cold.
Then my eyes fluttered and my head lolled.
You screamed raged and sorrowful.

And regret filled your soul.
Because you sit behind metal, with no idea
What we were fighting for.
