Keyhole

Imagine a door.
Old and warped,
Like that old mans heart down the road.
The edges rough and rugged.
Now crouch down and look through the hole.
What do you see?
Imagine a room full of pictures,
Every snap a memory,
Some happy, some sad and look! There's one,
Of a couple beneath a tree.
How cute, how nice,
But don't you see?
The following image, a bed, not for two, its one,
Its white and made to perfection,
Flowers sit at the bedside,
A woman's face with smile,
And the man, face taught
As he sits for a while.
Now imagine a flower with its petals all gone,
Would you pick it?
You wouldn't, well certainly not for its beauty.
But do you think about what that flowers been through?
How its flourished and grown?
Now think back to the man.
What about his own?
He looks rugged and rough like the door that you saw,
But look through the keyhole,
And see how much more,
There is to a man who had loved and lost.
