"Jamie" Arizona breathed as she stood back in shock, her hands flying to cover her mouth

My mind turned to the worst as she stood there in silence. What she seriously going to reject me?

"Arizona, I know this is sudden and we haven't spoken about this since you got hurt but I'm serious when I say that you are the only person I want to spend the rest of my life with!" I tried to reassure her

She took a minute, as I watched her body relax and a huge smile crept across her features.

"Jamie, you don't have to try and persuade me! I just didn't expect this! I thought I'd have to be the one down on one knee having to beg you just to consider marriage" Arizona gave a small chuckle

"Oh shit" I let out a huge breath of air as I stood up to come face to face with my lover "I thought for a second there you were going to leave me hanging" I laughed nervously

Arizona held out her hand for me to place the dazzling diamond onto her finger. It was the perfect fit. She took my hands into hers and looked directly up into my eyes.

"Jamie Grace Quinn, the answer is yes, I will marry you" she whispered as she leaned up and sealed it with a kiss

I took her into my arms as we stood there in silence, relishing each others embrace as we stood and watched the sun setting behind the hills.

"I love you" I whispered as I held her from behind and rested my chin on her shoulder

"I love you more" she smiled as she looked to the side and kissed my cheek

We sat and finished our picnic as we watched the street lights come to life throughout the city. It soon became cold and it was time for us to pack up and head home.

"So when do you want to get married?" Arizona asked as she chanced a glance at me

"Arizona I only bought your ring yesterday, you think I have an entire wedding planned out?" I laughed at her urgency

"Yeah but I mean, ballpark, this year, next year, 10 years time?" She tried to pull an answer from me

"Baby you know I'd marry you in the morning but I want it to be a special day for the both of us, so whenever you feel like everything is in place, we'll get married" I shrugged

"I'd like April" Arizona smiled up at me from the passenger side

"What has our wedding got to do with April Kepner?" I teased, earning a punch to my bicep

"Jamie, I'm not kidding" she tried to stifle a laugh at my horrible joke "I'm serious! April is the perfect month. It's not too hot and it's not too cold."

"Arizona you do realize April is 6 months away! How the hell can we organize a wedding in 6 months? Let alone having to work 6 days of the week" I tried to reason with her

"Jamie I just want to marry you as soon as I can and if that means pulling a wedding together in 6 months then so be it! I just want to be able to call you my wife" She sighed

"Fine" I mumbled

"What?" she asked

"I said fine! We can get married in April" I smiled over at her, giving in

"Oh Jamie" she squealed as she grabbed my face, kissing my cheek

"Arizona, I'm trying to drive" I mumbled against her hands that were squeezing my cheeks

"Oh sorry" she giggled as she sat back in her seat

We soon reached home and Arizona decided to make celebratory cocktails with whatever alcohol she had left in her fridge. As she stood at the kitchen counter with her back to me I took this as my chance. I walked up behind her and wrapped my arms lovingly around her waist as I began placing soft kisses down her neck.

"Jamie" Arizona breathed as she leaned her head back against my shoulder

"Mhhmm" I mumbled against her sweet smelling skin

"I-I, will-, oh god" she stuttered before letting out a soft moan as I began tugging gently at the soft spot on her neck

"How about we leave the cocktails until later" I whispered against her ear as she turned around in my arms to face me

I grabbed hold of her legs as I hoisted her up onto the counter top. She placed her hands softly on either side of my face as she deepened the kiss. I stood in between her legs, wanting to be as close to her as humanly possible. I moved my hands down her body as the intensity grew between us.

"How about we take this to the bedroom" She panted against me

"You read my mind" I smirked at how worked up she was

I helped her down off the counter top and took her hand in mine, not being able to stop for just a second, she pressed me up against the kitchen door, pinning my arms against the sides as she sucked and tugged against the skin on my neck.

"Jesus Arizona" I huffed as I felt a rush through my body

"Hey Jamie, you weren't answering your phone so I came to-, oh shit sorry am I interrupting?" Alex called out before entering the kitchen

Arizona instinctively jumped away from me as I tried to regain my train of thought.

"Yeah just a little bit" I mumbled as I straightened out my clothes

"What do you want Karev?" Arizona sighed as she leaned against a chair

"Jeez, now I know never to interrupt on your sexy time" Alex said sarcastically as he picked up on Arizona's annoyance at his entrance

"Well considering we just got engaged, I have a right to be pissed" Arizona replied sarcastically

"Oh awesome! Congrats!" Alex said as he took a glance a Jamie, he couldn't help but feel that should have been him, but he shook the feeling before it became a thought.

"So I'm interrupting super sexy time" he joked as he wiggled his eyebrows

"What were you trying to call me for Alex" I laughed as I shook my head at his silliness

"It's the kid-" Alex started before I cut him off

"Nope not happening Alex, I told Arizona this and now I'm telling you, no more kids! I'm not a pediatric surgeon and I'm not on call. Go get another resident" I stood my ground

"Jamie, it's Katie Bryce. I don't think she's going to make it through the night. She needs a heart transplant." Alex said seriously as he looked directly at me

"Shit" I cursed under my breath "Arizona" I sighed apologetically as I turned towards her

"Go" she said softly as she gave me an understanding look

How did I deserve a woman like her?
