Love at second sight

Chapter 9

*kai's POV*

Selene is gone.

I think to myself. Just as I sit down trying to calm my crying levana walks up and sits next to me.

   "I heard the news. In sorry your highness. I know what it's like to lose someone you love."

Yeah right. I think. How could anyone love you, how could anyone even tolerate you for stars sakes.

   "I'm sorry." Is all I say.

She takes my hand after a minute of silence.

   "It'll be okay soon young emperor." She says in a sweet voice. I wanted to run as far as I could from her but something in her voice made it hard for me to leave her.  I held her hand back.

   "Thank you your majesty." I say.

   "Please it's levana." She smiles sweetly.

   I stare at her smile for a little before I answer.

   "Then call me kai." I smile back. For a minute I felt like we were the only two people in the world. I didn't know why because I hate her but something in this moment made me hate her less almost...love her. I look down at her blood red lips and quickly look away.

  No don't do this. I think to myself. I love Selene not levana.

Suddenly I feel a hand On my jaw. As I snap out of my thoughts I realize levana is staring at my my lips, slowly leaning in. I think about pulling away but eventually decide against it and close the gap between us kissing her blood red lips.
