Taemin (SHINee)

(Start music when you see "*")

I'm in the dance room of SM Entertainment practicing Taemin sunbaenim's dance for the special stage. I'm just a rookie but everyone already has high hopes for me so I have to do well! I stayed longer to practice more because this dance was a bit hard for me. The moves were changed to make it a couple dance but my partner was out for the day, so it was a bit hard to be dancing with the air.

One and two and three and four and- "Gosh darn it!" I always mess up at this part!

"Need help?"
I spun around to see Taemin sunbaenim leaning against the door with his hands in his pockets. I quickly bowed and said, "Hello sunbaenim."
"Just call me Taemin," he said chuckling and walking over.
"Ah... Um... T-taemin..."
He just smiled and said, "I've seen you struggle with some parts in the dance. Want me to help?"
"What?"
He chuckled and walked over to the stereo to replay the song from the beginning.

*Start music here*

He walked back towards me and stopped behind me. He put his hands on my waist and my eyes dilated in surprise. I quickly blinked it away and tried my best to focus.
"Turn your hips like this so you could move better." He squared my hips to the center and removed his hands. Then his hands came to my arms, positioning them correctly.
"Your arms should be straight right here but then..." He moved them into a different position and gently kicked my feet apart. "Then you do that. Got it?" He spoke calmly, but also sweet and a bit husky. It made my heart flutter.
"Start whenever the part comes." He said as he let go of me.
I nodded my head and waited until the beat came. Okay, calm down... You got this.

I begun dancing as best as I could. I moved softly with the rhythm and swayed my hips. I snapped my hands and walked forward. Then I begun popping and doing the contemporary dance movements. Oh shoot...the parts coming up... What do I do now?

Right before the next part started, Taemin jumped in and danced as my partner. I tried to calm down but my heart couldn't stop beating. It felt like my heart was going to jump right out of my chest! He was so close in front of me, holding my waist and running his other hand down my arm. I felt his breath run down my neck as we made eye contact for a brief second before it was his small solo part and we began dancing separately again.

My heart was beating like crazy but I kept dancing, almost unconsciously. I couldn't even think straight right now.

When the couple part came again towards the end, I took a few steps forward so he could grab my hand and quickly twirl me back into his arms. My back was against his soft but muscular chest, and his strong arm was wrapped around my shoulders. We both were breathing heavily from dancing but something sparked between us. Or maybe it was just me who felt that spark.

But slowly, he leaned forward and our eyes closed as his lips gently fell onto mine.
"Taemin-ah~"
We quickly let go of each other and I fell onto the floor. I begun stretching and looked into the mirror to see Minho sunbaenim walk in with bags filled with food.
"Oh, hyung! What are you doing here?" Taemin asked, his cheeks a bit flushed.
Minho turned the volume lower and walked over to us. "Oh hi ___. Working hard for your first stage performance right?"
I quickly stand up and bow. "Yes..."
"Ah.. Here's some food for you Taemin. There's enough for two so you guys can share it. I'll be off now."
"You're going already?" Taemin asked.
"Yeah, I have a radio show to go to." Minho turned to me and said, "Good luck! Fighting!"
I smiled and bowed once more before he left.

Awkwardddd~ I sung in my head. It was only us two alone in the room again.
He cleared his throat, lifted up the bag and said, "Let's eat."
"O-oh okay..."
He embarrassingly smiled and we headed out of the room. As we came to the door, we almost ran into each other while trying to walk out the door. We both took a step back and offered one another to go first. He chuckled, making me laugh, and then we both quietly burst out laughing.
"After you," he said courteously.
I couldn't help but break out into a smile and take his offer.

We walked down the hallway side by side and I suddenly felt his hand gently slide into mine. I looked up at him surprised but all he did was smile bashfully and continue walking. I couldn't think of anything to say and stayed quiet as he held my hand, leading us somewhere to eat our dinner together.

On the day of the performance, I was switched to be Taemin's partner.
