SOPHIE

I'm stocked up on a sugar high and Luke is laughing at my ridiculous stories of sneaking around backstage to get away from Sadie. Normally he'd be upset that I'm doing the one thing he asked me not to, but not today. Today, he said, it would just be me and him, no distractions put in place because he doesn't want anything to rip him away from the time we spend together.

"And then what, baby?" his arm is draped carelessly across my shoulder as I giggle, snuggling closer into him.

"I hid under the bleachers."

"The whole show?"

"Not the whole show," I play with the string of Daddy's hoodie as we walk, down the deserted pier and to the railing that overlooks the beach. Melbourne is beautiful at this time of year and I'm happy that it's one of the first few tour spots we get to go to. "I came out for Outer Space."

"Did you like it?" he asks, softly, as we lean against the cold bars. The wind is warm yet holds a brisk breeze, fanning between us both and encasing our bodies.

I nod. "Yes," I see him smile. "I still wish you'd play some of your old songs, though."

"Oh, here we go again." Daddy playfully rolls his eyes, chuckling as he stares at me through the floppy fringe on his forehead.

His arm wraps around my waist and it's easy for me to lean my head on his chest. He's warm and soft and (not surprisingly) incredibly broad, so there's a lot to rest on.

"Daddy, I'm being serious." I say, jabbing him in the hand lightly to stop him from laughing. "You never play your old songs anymore."

"We don't?"

"Nope." I shake my head. "I miss them."

"What do you miss then, princess?" Luke leans his chin on my head, after gently kissing the top of it. "Maybe Daddy can play it for you sometime."

"I think you've forgotten how to play them." I tease him.

I can't see him, but I know the chances of him smirking are higher than ever. "Try me."

"Okay, then." I swivel myself around ever so slightly, just so I have enough space to look up at him. I see the outline of his jaw, the stubble growing around it and the beautiful way his nose is shaped. "Try Hard."

"Try what?"

"Hard."

"What is?"

"Daddy." I whine, hitting him on the shoulder and blushing at the innocent innuendo. He lets out a soft laugh, shaking his head as his arms tighten around me.

"I'm just messing with you, angel." he murmurs. "And I can play Try Hard. Is that your favourite song?"

To his obvious surprise, I shake my head no.

"Nope."

"Oh? Then what is?"

A small, sly smile spreads across my lips, images of lyric videos and hours spent trying to find the download link with Ashley flashing through my mind. "I Can't Remember."

"That's fine then, sweetheart. You can tell me later and I can-"

"No, Daddy! No, that's not what I meant," I giggle quickly, turning around fully to wrap my arms around his neck. Automatically, his head bends down to level with mine, eyes bright. "I meant that I Can't Remember's my favourite song."

"It is?"

"Mhm."

"You never told me that," Daddy rests his hands on my hips, his head leaning back to get a proper good look at me. He raises an eyebrow. "I thought your favourite was Unpredictable?"
