Can there be anything better than holding her in my arms?
Giving her the gift of life, knowing she'll complete mine.
Holding her close, her warmth comforting me as I comfort her.
Carry her one last time in my arms before she learns to walk.
Before she learns to talk. Before she learns to run.
Humming softly a lullaby, I leave her with a goodnight kiss.
I promise to be close, help her find her footing, keep her from falling.
I'll devote my life to make hers twice as beautiful.
Maybe I'm not exceptional, but I promise to always protect her.
Showering her with all my love; telling her how much she matters.
Raising her to be beautiful and strong and perfect.
So when the waves of time sweep her away, she'll remember this shore, where it all began.
