It was dark there,
The place where I was from.
So I asked for a light
In return, I got the whole star
for myself.
Breaking out from the dark, I stepped
in the light.
For the first time, I felt the
seasons change.

The spring was pleasant.
My pale skin beamed underneath the rising sun.
I felt the warmth that was radiating.
And then came the summer;
As harsh as it can get.
But I got through with a smile.
The fall was different
I was carrying this hole in my heart and nothing could fill it,
I was losing control of reality.
My tears dropped on the golden carpet of fallen leaves.

The winter was cold and quiet.
The days were still grey, just
without rain.
The time was long overdue for me
And it was the day to go back
to the empty

So hold me tight just once
Before I lose your sight
And forget what your face looked like.
Promise me, when I'm gone you'll come find me
I will be there where shadows don't follow you anymore,
Hidden in the forest with canopies as high as the sky.
I will be there, waiting to be
saved again.
