An unwanted seedling
Tossed away from the garden
Sunken to the ground
Watered by the salty tears
Grew unmowed in the wilderness.

I was a wildflower
Spreading vibrant colors of blossom
Intoxicating with my essence
I was a carefree spirit of the wild.

Living under elite of wildflowers
I was taught that I ain't among the accepted.
I won't be as romantic as the roses,
Won't be as tender as the lilies
Won't be as beautiful as the tulips.

But a mad poet will lay on my tuft
Allured by my grace
Carry me on his ear
Place me in the tresses of his love
And make me immortal
In the garden of his words.
