ISABELLE

Walking into the main ball room was like walking into a far away dream. Three chandeliers hung along the high ceiling. The room seemed to go on for forever but was filled. A band was stood on the stage, playing slow and peaceful songs. Some couples were dancing in the middle of the room. Tables covered the floor around the dancing people, letting people sit down and eat if they wanted. There was a long table at the far end, filled with food for people to pick when they please.

My hand was still in Harry's as we stood near the entrance but not blocking the door as more people were still filling the room. I couldn't help but look at everything and everyone in awe. All the women's dresses were amazing. Everyone looked so beautiful and I suddenly felt like a piece of trash. Yes my dress was beautiful but so plain and simple compared to everyone else. I guess that just shows how different I am to everyone here.

I don't belong. I probably never will.

"Want a drink?" Harry asked, squeezing my hand as I looked up at him.

"Yes please. JD and coke." I smiled but Harry chuckled at me, making me frown.

"Most women drink wine here, not whiskey." Harry smirked making me blush and shy away.

Of course they do. They wouldn't even try a bit of whiskey and if they did, they probably would hate it. I definitely don't belong.

"Right, I'll have whatever then."

Harry nodded before letting go off my hand and walking towards the bar that was in the corner. I didn't know what to do, especially as I was on my own. I looked around seeing everyone talking to someone they knew. Everyone seemed to know everyone here. Although I'm not surprised because as Harry said, his parents do this to show off to all their friends.

I slowly walked around the side of the dance floor, watching all the couples dancing slowly to the music. I couldn't help but smile at some of them. They were quietly laughing to each other, whispering in each others ears now and then. They all looked genuinely happy with each other. Slowly dancing like they were the only ones in the room. But I knew better than that and that's when a frowned fell on my lips. They were just putting on a show, just like how they party was. They wanted to show everyone that they were happy together, that they were doing well. Everyone was playing the same silly game and they all thought they were winning but in fact, no one was. No one is actually happy. Not one of them will ever be. They chose this life and they probably don't even regret it. They have all the money in the world to do and get whatever they want, just to try and make themselves happy but that still didn't work. The men probably go to strip clubs every night after work while the women slave away at home. Half the men in here have probably cheated on their wives and their wives probably know it, they just don't say anything, they accept it. I don't get how people could live like this. Its misery.

"Here you go."

I looked to my right and see Harry had returned, snapping me out of my thoughts.

"Thank you." I spoke, taking the wine glass out of his hand.

I took a small sip of it before cringing at the taste as it went down my throat. I never did like wine. I heard a chuckle from beside me, making me look back up at Harry.

"Don't like it?"

"Never have." He chuckled again before looking around, almost like he was looking for a certain someone.

The next thing to happen was a man walked up to us, shaking Harry hands straight away.

"Glad you made it son."
