When I stepped into the science wing, my nose was met with a stench.
"What the hell is that smell?" Mia complained beside me and I crunched my nose.
"Embalming fluid." I informed her and she rolled her eyes at me.
"Is there anything you don't know?" She asked and I nodded.
"There's plenty I don't know." I told her. "And I know it's embalming fluid because that is probably a test question." I told her before taking my seat.
"Whatever." Mia muttered before walking away.
I took out the necessary supplies for class and organized them neatly on my desk.
I turned to look at the students next to me who were engaged in a conversation and I let out a sigh of relief when their attention wasn't on me.
Since the second I woke up, my senses have been on higher alert.
I think I'm forgetting something important.
Or maybe something bad is going to happen at any moment.
Whatever it is, I want to be prepared for it.
A movement beside me made me look from my desk and up at Liam who took his seat beside me.
He gave me a bright smile and I relaxed a little.
But my anxious state did not leave.
It never leaves.
"Everything okay?" He asked and I gave him a shrug.
"I think so." I voiced and he frowned.
"You're nervous about dissecting Charlotte?" He teased.
"In Charlotte's Web, Charlotte was the spider. Wilbur is the pig, so, no I'm not nervous about directing Charlotte." I informed him.
"Smart ass." He laughed and I gave him a small shrug.
The tardy bell rang and and Mrs. Knowles walked in with an apron on.
"Today we're dissecting Wilbur." She announced and I looked at Liam with a small smile.
"Shut up, Daisy."
"I didn't say anything." My smile grew.
He rolled his eyes and we turned to Mrs. Knowles for instruction.
