The game went on for what felt like hours but, it'd only been a few minutes, long minutes. I sat on the sidelines, by myself for the most part; at times there would be a little small talk between me and the Cullen's or my family but nothing between Emmett and me; just awkward glances but nothing stopped the bad feeling in my gut.
I couldn't help the smile that crossed my face as my brother hit the ball out of sight again, my parents were cheering him on as he ran while we waited for Edward to come back from the woods, but we didn't have to wait long as he emerged so did a few more people.
The game came to a standstill as I recognized one of the strangers, he wasn't exactly a stranger either or at least not to my family. Before anything could be said, my parents and my brother were by my side as the feeling in the pit of my stomach started to make since "No, no, no, no," I mumbled to myself as the past started to revolve around my head.
"Vega?" Emmett asked, my eyes were closed as he wrapped his arms around me, "babe?"
"You know those guys?" Jasper asked my family as it felt like the earth started to shake under me, my mind was replaying all the bad things that have happened in my life, all the bad things that I've done...created...everything.
"A little something like that," he said told him as I finally opened my eyes and took in the scene before me, but in what felt like slow motion. The wind was blowing erratically, more so than usual; I could barely hear anyone over it. I knew someone was saying my name, but I could feel my heartbeat speeding up as he looked around the field, sniffing for something, for me.
Laurent was speaking to Carlisle as the Cullen's huddled around my family in a protective stance, I could feel Emmett's cold hand grabbed my hand and hold it tightly, but I was too in shock to pull away from him. I knew it was only a matter of time before he realized who we were, after all, it wasn't that long since we'd meet; my dad tried to so hard to keep us away from him but apparently not hard enough because here we are.
"Vega?" Emmett asked again as the air went still, James stood up straight as his eyes narrowed in on me, his smirked widened as he started to squat into what seemed like a fighting stance. I gasped as my family mirrored him.
He smirked evilly as I stood there, tears trailing down my face alone. "Finally," he said, "I can finish what I started."
"Touch her and I will eat your cold dead heart!" Emmett yelled menacingly at him, in a tone that I'd never heard before. I couldn't help but crouch down, cover my ears and closes my eyes and hope that he would be over soon enough.
"Emmett," my dad said loudly, "take her, now!"
Seconds after he finished the sentence, I was in his arms and the wind was pushing against us. I kept my eyes closed, scared of what I would see but I knew that we were getting further away from them because the air was changing around us. We ran for only a few minutes before we came to a stop, I could feel my heart racing against his steel chest. "Vega, babe, we're home." He whispered as I opened my eyes, tentatively he let me down so that we could go into my home.
Once I entered my adrenaline started pumping as I ran up to my room and started shoving things into my backpack.

So, this is one of my shortest chapters yet for multiple reasons.
1. This book ends in about 5 chapters or less, who knows?
2. I'm working on a lot of other books, for Matt Murdock, Toby Cavanagh, and a few others. If anyone had any suggestions for books let me know and I might write it.
3. The good shit coming out during my spring break, so nothing is getting updated until then, this is like a teaser.
