Shravan Ki Sumo, Sumo Ka Shravan

Preeti's first day as Mrs Malhotra

It was Preeti's first day after wedding and all had decided to have lunch together.  Preeti had to cook and she had done a good job out of it. Though  the servants had generously helped her the other women had stayed out of kitchen. With aroma filling the house, all were promptly seated at the table for lunch. They all appreciated and gifted her after this first banquet that she had laid.  Pushkar teased that Sumo ki aatma aaj Preeti mei  aa gayi. Kahin ladna bhi shuru na kar de.. Shravan inwardly smiled waiting for the day where Sumo's atma and flesh would actually bhi cooking her first meal after their wedding . After some reservations, Kamini had to complement . It was one of the best and surely way better than Vandy's attempts!

Kamini said " bus ekdum morden aur ekdum gharelu bahu mil gayi hai mujhe.. ab Malhotra parivar ki teesri bahu, mordern hogi ya acha khane banane wali hogi...?"

Ramu looked at her and then at Shravan. He was just smiling at chachi "kya pata chachi.. shayad dono bhi ho.. ghar bhi sambhalein. Kaam bhi karein"
Ramu bit his lip and Kamini grinned.. "Shravan kahin tujhe bhi koi pasand to nahi aayi?.. ab koi London Shondon mat bolo.. Urvasi ne jaise kiya.. use to soch kar bhi sharam aati hai"

"Bus chachi..aap jo kahein"

"Shravan, agar tum aa pao to lunch ke baad seedha office  mein milna.. ek complicated case hai jo tumhe dena chahta hoon" Ramu interjected before these two promised more and shortlisted Sumo !

Aditya- " ok then, aaj shaam ki flight mein nikalta hoon"

Kamini " oye, aise kaise.. tujhe rukna padhega.. abhi "

Aditya understood the implied meaning "No aunty, wo kaam to shayad adhoora hi rahega.Koi bhi business mein partners par zabardasti nahi ki ja sakti. And is client ko naya nahi , purana account hi chahiye"

Shravan dug his face in the paratha and did not look up till he finished. He felt the boring eyes of his chachi but man!.. not here , not now..

Pushkar "dekh Preeti , tera khana kha kar mera dost dar gaya.. ab kitchen se door rah. Baaki bhi chale jayenge"

Vandy" Pushkar... apni biwi ko kitchen se door rakhne ka plan acha hai"

Varun " Vandy !Pushkar ka irada to nahi pata, but tu humesha door rah.Ye to sach hai ki humari bhalayi isi mein hai"

They all laughed and Ramu left the table smiling. Preeti touched his feet again and he blessed her more happiness.  His happiness stung Kamini and she decided to get back to action as Aditya had confirmed what she had believed all along.

At office.

Shravan was in the office room unable to concentrate. He was not sure if he should call or wait for her message. After all he had only helped her.. abhi zabadasti karne par hi to madam rest leti hain.. "gayi hogi seedha aaj bhi PCT.. use uski jagah wapas dene ke liye ab kya karoon.. papa ne jo kiya theek kiya.. case alag rishta alag. Ab jagah to mera hai, mujhse nahi le sakti hai?.. hmm. Idiot.. jaata hoon shaam ko milne.. bus kuch to bahana dhoond ke milna padhta hai.. aaj  aise badhakne waali hai ki pehle mama se milkar matadevi ka kavach leke jaata hoon".. Shravan was grinning to himself when Pushkar entered.

"Bhaiyya.. been there!done that.. and ye pagalwaali hasi kya ho sakti hai.. ye mein jaanta hoon.. but aap maante nahi hoon.. aaj kal case mein jokes corner aate hain kya? "😉

"Chhote...nikal.. tera office mein aana ek hafta ban hai.. Preeti kya sochegi mere baare mein.. London return wakeel.. ek din mere pati ke bina kaam nahi chala sakta ?"

" Agar wo mujhe aapse behter maanegi, to mein to yahin rahoonga"

"Bol nautanki, kya kaam hai,?"

"Bhaiyya.. same request.. dinner ke liye restaurant ka reservation 😍"

"Besharam.. is baar agar cancel ki to dekh.."

" To chale jaana aap is baar bhi Sumo ke saath... waise us din bhi Preeti thi.. aapko dekh kar bhag gaya"

"Achha chote...long time you told the truth aur mere paas aise masti mein dinner karne ki koi fursat nahi hai"..

"Ok ok please bus reservation karva do my best bhaiyya.."

"Wapas ghar ja.. ho jayega.. office mein fir se dikha to cancel!"

"Thank you thank you, bye bhaiyya"

Manju maami was very happy that all the proceedings were good. They conducted a special Thanksgiving aarti at home. Sumo returned late in the  afternoon and kept her plastic smile on as one after the other, the relatives took leave.  They all appreciated her efforts and revised and reminded the "eligible" boys. 

Finally Champu mama took leave after enormous hugs , and more "gifts" from the tearful maami. He avoided Sumo till the end and she started to feel a little guilty. 'Meri life jis raste pe jaa rahi hai, uspe jaane se to mein is Champu ki doosri biwi ban jaoon' Abhi Ramnath uncle kya Malhotra family se agar koi bhi dikh jaye , to jaan nikal jayegi meri. Aditya ..tujhe mein kabhi maaf nahi karoongi😐. Sumo collected herself and fell at champu mama's feet as he was about to leave. He took her aside and paused. Once he was sure the others were out of earshot he said "Beta Suman, Shravan tumhara sirf dost hai? Agar tum use sirf dost maanti ho to is mama ki tajurbe se sunlo.. wo tumhe sirf dost nahi maanta.. maafi to mujhe tum se maangni hai" Sumo tried to protest but he continued " par uske saamne maafi mangne ke liye bhi tumse milna theek nahi laga.Possessive isliye hai kyonki wo tumse bahut pyaar karta hai.. care karta hai. Gussawala hai par beta bahut kum logon ko itna pyaar nasib hota hai.. use khona mat..khush rah beti"

Suman burst into tears " Haan mama.. bahut kam logon ko hi sacha pyaar naseeb hota hai.. mujhe nahi milega " .This time she hugs her mama and cries, she needed her father and mother now.

Champu stroked her hair "beta ladayian hoti rahengi par tum use dhoondne wapis hotel mein gayi thi na.. usne bhi tera hospital mein khayal rakha na.. ab baaki choti baaton ko chodkar uska haath thaamo aur zindagi  khushi khusi bitao"

Suman cried more and shook her head. When she sensed her mama's sudden release and him backing off she was surprised , but only momentarily as she saw Shravan standing there staring at  Champu directing  virtual lethal missiles on that poor scared soul.

He walked towards them "Kya meine samjhne mein galti ki ya samjhaane mein? "

Sumo was worried.  Ab kaunsa drama hoga.. kya batayagi wo..? Champu mama use gala raha tha aur wo ro rahi thi.. Shravan ko shayad laga hoga ki mama ki wajah se ro rahi hoon.
She had to save her mama...
