A\N This is a bit shorter than what i normally write, but I have something special planned for a Pokemon coming up so I wanted to dedicate a chapter to that.

"Sylveon use Quick Attack", you started off the battle. Sylveon gathered its energy and speed towards its opponent. Was Hapu worried? Not in the least. "Mudsdale lets show them your Double Kick", Hapu commanded. Mudsdale turned the other way and kicked with its powerful hind legs. The first kicked missed, but the second one landed. Thankfully, Sylveon was able to catch itself. "My turn to be on the offensive. Mudsdale use Earthquake", Hapu told it with confidence. Mudsdale reared up and slammed on the ground with all its force. The ground started to shake violently and erupt. "Dodge the eruptions with Quick Attack!" you advised. Sylveon did what you told it to do and quickly avoided with contact with any openings in the ground. "Not bad. Your Sylveon sure it quick, but you better make sure it's quick enough", Hapu taunted. You knew for sure Sylveon was quick enough to dodge Mudsdale. But sit still won't be easy to take it down. You have to find some sort of weakness. "Sylveon attack with Swift!" you're ordered. Sylveon fired a beam of twinkling stars, which hit Mudsdale multiply. Hapu had a smile on her face, "Mudsdale activate your ability, Stamina" she said. Stamina? Is that really an ability? Mudsdale whinnied and was shrouded in a yellowish aura. You were confused. "Let me explain. Stamina is an ability that only Mudsdale and Mudsbray have. Each time it gets hit by an attack, its defense is raised. So thank you for that Swift attack (Y\N)", Hapu explained. Yikes. Looks like Swift and Quick Attack won't do much damage now. You had to count on Moonblast to do the damage for you. There must be something you can do to get around its buff in defense.

"Alright Mudsdale I want you to hold your ground", Hapu said. She wasn't going to give it a move? She has to have a surprise waiting for you. You took a good look at Mudsdale and got an idea. Everything has a blind spot and you think you know just the place. "Sylveon Quick Attack", you commanded starting your plan. Sylveon ran towards Mudsdale. "Keep your place", Hapu told it and it obeyed. Once Sylveon was close enough, you gave it another order, "Now under Mudsdale's legs! Attack from behind!" you shouted. Sylveon ran quickly right under Mudsdale. Mudsdale looked under itself and lost sight of your Pokemon. Sylveon had jump up in the air and continue its attack, crashing into Mudsdale's back. Hapu's Pokemon was surprised and jumped around wildly, eventually throwing Sylveon into the air. "That was some smart thinking using Mudsdale's blind spot, but not good enough. Mudsdale Counter Attack!" she commanded. Focusing on Sylveon's location in the sky, Mudsdale waited for the right moment and struck Sylveon with a counter. The hard hit sent Sylveon rolling into the dirt. You urged your Pokemon to get up and sure enough, it did. You could tell Sylveon was getting worn out. Mudsdale sure packed a mean punch or hoof in this case. "Don't give up Sylveon! We can do this!" you told it. Sylveon was happy to continue. "Hmm that one tough little Pokemon. I was sure that Counter would've gotten it pretty good", Hapu commented. At this moment, you had to get defensive and that's when your next move came into play. "Thanks, but my Pokemon are as tough as they'll get. This time I got a surprise for you. Sylveon use Psych Up", you said. A fairy dust-like aura surrounded Sylveon and sharply raised its defense to match that of Mudsdale's. "Cute trick, but let's see if you can take another one of Mudsdale's attack. Mudsdale use Earthquake", Hapu commanded. Mudsdale rose on its hind legs, ready to activate its attack. You had to think fast. You couldn't keep avoiding the attacks forever. You needed time to think, "Sylveon keep up dodge its attacks with Quick Attack!" you ordered. Just a little time would help. Sylveon did its best to dodge but it accidentally ended up tripping at the last second. "Hurry Mudsdale Heavy Slam!" Hapu encouraged it. If that attack landed, this battle would be over. But maybe this attack it what you needed.

Thinking back to when you had your Mudsdale used the same move, its recover was not so good. Throwing your weight around was a strong attack but it came at a cost. After using Heavy Slam, your Mudsdale was too tired to get back up quickly enough. If you could get Mudsdale to hit the ground, it was hurt itself enough for you to finish it off. That was how you were going to defeat Hapu. Mudsdale ran at Sylveon with full force, it meant business. You waited until the last second possible, making it look like you'd given up. "Sylveon dodge with Quick Attack and run around behind Mudsdale!" you shouted a bit desperately, hoping you weren't too late. Mudsdale's body came crashing down. Sylveon managed to get out of the way by the fur of its tail. Running around to the back, Sylveon awaited orders. Hapu looked surprised. "Alright Sylveon used Swift to circle around Mudsdale", you told it confident. Sylveon's beam of stars was directed to circle around Mudsdale. The reflection of light and the number of stars made Mudsdale confused as it tried to get back up. It was time for the final attack. "Sylveon give Mudsdale your best Moonblast. Go!" you shouted. Gathering energy from the shinning moon above it, Sylveon attacked with it Moonblast. The beam hit Mudsdale straight on and the force of the attack almost blinded you for a second. Once the attack was finished, Mudsdale was unable to battle.

"That was a good battle (Y\N). I'm proud to say you have passed my trial", Hapu congratulated you. You returned Sylveon to its Pokeball and praised it for its effort in battle. "I got a little worried there. But looks like you pulled through like always", Lillie told you. Sticking things out to the end is what you do best. Gladion looked pleased. The only time you've seen him like that is whenever you overcame something big in a battle. Not like he was teaching you anything to be pleased about. I guess it was more of acknowledging your growth as a trainer. "As Kahuna of this Island, I now present you with this Z crystal. Groundium Z", Hapu announced and proudly gave you the crystal.
