“Hey, Hime. I, uh, can’t really talk right now. I’m at work.”
“Oh, are you now?”
“I really am. Wanna’ speak to my manager?”
“Nah, I trust you. It’s just, whenever I call on a weekday, you’re never at work.”
“Yeah, well. I’m usually on my break.”
“How long are your breaks?”
“All day… nobody notices so why not?”
“You’re such a bad girl.”
“You know it. My brother doesn’t like it, but.”
“You have a brother and you never told me?!”
“Uh, yeah, I do. He’s older than me by a few years.”
“What’s his name?”
“…Jake.”
“Will I get to meet him when I see you?”
“Um, no; he lives in New York and never really comes to visit.”
“I’m pretty sure that’s bullshit.”
“Alright, fine, he comes every summer, but you won’t be here this summer, so nice try.”
“I could always come this summer.”
“No, you can’t.”
“Yes, I can.”
“Can’t. I won’t be able to have you stay at my place.”
“I’ll get a hotel room.”
“No, you can’t do that.”
“Why not?”
“Because I don’t want you spending unnecessary money just to see me.”
“Well, it’s always an option.”
“You can be so difficult. Still, the answer is no to you coming early, and that’s final.”
“Oh, yeah? We’ll see about that, Bluebird.”
